Just wondering if anyone has an suggestions for a trim wheel to buy for flight sim? I know the HC bravo has one but I’m not keen on it due to the bravo’s overall huge footprint. A standalone one would be ideal.

Difficult. There is a 3D printed one available on ebay. I got myself a used Saitek Cessna Trimwheel a few years ago. Other than that I am stumped

Thanks for your response, it is an option I’m considering but my first choice would be a standalone trim wheel which unfortunately leaves me with very limited options. Simmax.it do a C172 replica but not seeing many reviews online about it so unsure
Yes, but while I think the mulit panel is a good product (have one myself), the tiny trimwheel is pretty useless. It’s too small to feel realistic and trimming with it is quite a chore. Never used it even before I got the Saitek trim wheel, and trimmed with buttons instead
Yes, it’s quite a solid product. I’m very happy with it. Unfortunately the prices you have to pay for a used one are usually significantly higher than what it used to cost when it was new …
On the other hand, there are several other options like the one by Virtual Fly. But that’s a completely different price category
Simmax.it is also quite good. I have the TPM throttle from them. Just be aware that delivery costs (from the Far East) can be significant, and you probably have to pay customs and VAT, so expect it to cost quite a bit more than what you can see on their homepage.
Just looking around I found a few more options that I have no further knowledge of:
Then there’s the FlightVelocity Trim wheel, which looks similar to the Saitek. But the reviews are … well mixed at best.
Then there’s this one. Doesn’t look high class, but maybe worth a shot because of the price tag.
Last not least there’s the new trim wheel from Fulcrum. Their yoke has a good reputation but I get the impression they have serious problems meeting demand. Everytime I check their homepage most of the stuff is out of stock or on pre-order

Wow, much appreciated for providing all that, thank you. Yeah I’m surprised at how much people are charging for the second hand saitek wheel, but I suppose if it is good and there’s limited supply then it’s just how it goes. I’ll have to have a think about it but thanks again for all the options!

Personal Comments and Observations
The Flight Velocity one is outstanding. I have that one. Really nice granular control with just the standard axis bind to it. I can fine-tune the trim down to one to two notches, not even a quarter turn.
