Trouble with Europe Servers?

I’m a relative noob to FS2020 and since I started using it on my X-Box three weeks ago I have had an issue where it always starts or quick-resumes offline - it takes about 5 minutes before I get the reconnecting message.

Today, i had a message mid-flight saying the Azure ATC speech was offline and it changed to zombie-speech

That was at lunchtime, 5 hours later it still shows offline and both boxes are greyed out.

Its set for the Europe server and shows 14ms next to it but both greyed out

Is there anything I can do or is this normal???

X-Box Network page tests show all internet is fully working.

Based on the Dashboard, it might be a problem local to your area or perhaps with the console?

You may want to consult the link in the Dashboard that reads: Online Services are not available anymore.

Thanks

I’ve given up for today, will try again in the morning. I didn’t know there was a data cap? No idea what data i have used - I don’t multi-play, just me and apart from the initial downloads have bought/downloaded nothing at all.

I did sign- out and back in, i also turned online off then on again but still greyed out.

You consume data while playing if you have Bing Maps, Photogrammetry, ATC and Live Weather on. All that is data consumed on your Internet connection plan. The sim may have a cap enabled to prevent the user from going over quota and getting charged excessively by their ISP.

Ah I get it now, we have unlimited data here so it’s not that.

Will try tomorrow

Check Options-General-Data. Somewhere in there, the cap might be enabled. If it is, clear it and restart the sim. You may be able to connect at that point.

I willcheck but I recal seeing that option this afternoon and pretty certain there is no cap

I have had a few disconnects from the azure ATC services using the north european service today. I have also had the low bandwidth warning for photogrammetry. Neither of these were down to bandwith issues at my end, so it is possible there may have been network routing issues to the server today, even if the server itself is functioning correctly.

Thanks,

I will see what happens tomorrow, I have been having an issue every startup though, pretty much since signing up three weeks back. Always starts up offline and takes about 5 minutes to get online.

This has been a worldwide issue since SU5 / Xbox release in July. People everywhere on both platforms and in different locations are having the same issue.

I wonder if it might be worth exploring the option of changing your DNS server to something like google 8.8.8.8 or cloudflare 1.1.1.1 if you have had connection issues since the outset?

FWIW Azure voices have disappeared 3 times on me today. Something isn’t right with the Microsoft end yet again.

1GB fibre connection hard-wired to my PC.

Thanks,
I have already tweaked DNS as I run a smart-home server and various other things here
I recall Google was the fastest and we have a secondary backup fast option too.

Thats disappointing, along with the refusal to save joystick sensitivities bug, its starting to take the fun off the experience now :frowning:

If it is that then hopefully will resolve itself, doesn’t explain my longer running issues at startup though.

Well, today the ATC voice is back alive and all the data tabs in settings look ok, but the account tab at top-right of screen still shows Offline and greyed-out ?

Try disabling everything under the ‘data’ tab in options, save settings, then enabling them all again.

Tried that this morning, thanks.

I also signed out, then rebooted the x-box but after restart its still says offline and greyed out

With multi player turned off it’s always greyed out. Turn it on and you will see. It doesn’t matter, greyed out or not your still using on-line services if you have that option on.

Thats the one, thanks.

Odd thing is it still warns me multiplayer is disabled even when its turned on?
