Hello,
Is anyone making a Tu95?
Xbox compatible
Nope. I’d also like a Tu95 or a AN-22 but nothing of sort is in the works as far as I am aware…
I try to keep track of developments in the Soviet/Russian/Eastern Euro realm, and I’m not aware of any for the Tu-95 or Tu-142 currently. Something like this, with any reasonable level of fidelity, would likely require the expertise of native Russian developers who are broadly unavailable at this time to western audiences.
Same thing applies to any other Tupolev, Ilyushin, or Yakovlev aircraft. What I think may be fair game are some MiG and Sukhoi developments (due to their more common presence in post-Soviet states that aren’t Russia), as well as Mil helicopters, and Antonov products.
Current developments in this sphere that I am aware of:
Mil Mi-17V-5, technically already released, but a very significant version 2+ update is coming likely in a few weeks / or a month or two from Cera. (Trust me, they made tremendous progress within the last week)
Mil Mi-2 at a promised high level of fidelity from Axios. They are aiming for a Q4 2024 or Q1 2025 release.
Tupolev Tu-154M by a non-Russian developer. May actually be two separate Tu-154 projects. Need to rediscover info on this one.
Antonov An-26: Stated to be in development between Cockspur and an unnamed developer. Cockspur has not released any updates on it.
MiG-25 Foxbat: In development by Aviasim/GKS who previously released the MiG-21 and F-111. They are a Ukrainian team and due to world events necessarily work on a very slow basis, so I’m not sure if this’ll see release.
Side note: Tupolev Tu-134 - you may see this on the forums, but my understanding is that it was cancelled due to the developer possibly passing away. Not sure if anyone else is taking it up.
omg how awesome would that be… an a/c like no other
if someone does make it, i hope they give it justice
if its going to be a repurposed code from some airliner then don’t
yeah, pretty accurate. I’d say that the tu154 (if you mean the one Ablomis is making) will be sort of ready at least in two or three years… The an-26 can be considered abandoned at this point as cockspur are completely invested in bizjets at the moment. The Foxbat though is something I’ve never heard of, can you drop a link? This is exciting news for me! As a side note a Tu bomber would be an awesome addition to the sim world. Friends of my grandfather in the 90s managed to snatch a tu22 blinder, cut it into pieces and used it in their house. The wingslats were at the base of the roof of their house, the landing gear doors were used as shade over house windows, one engine was just lying around in the garden and the nosewheel was used in a wheelbarrow to carry manure From childhood onwards soviet bombers held a special place in my heart…
Also, that’s the best use of a Soviet bomber I’ve ever heard of!
Ah darn. Yeah understandable why it’s hard to come by russian developers. Personally tho, while other planes may be made, I’m only interested in the Bear and the now released SU27 & MiG 29
I’d certainly like more Russian civilian aircraft rather than so many fighter jets Everyone’s going to have their preferences but undeniably they are all good additions to the sim. I had learn to fly the PTTU 154 in FSX and later FlightGear version. It is a very rewarding experience. A list of other interesting aircraft: IL-62/76/86/96, Tu-104/114/134/154/204/334, An-72/148, SSJ, etc. Hopefully one day any of these may come to MSFS!
Not sure that I have ever read such an interesting post on this forum before. That is one amazing childhood memory!
Oh wow!! A well done Foxbat for the sim?! I’ll take two! The Bear next would be awesome! (I guess the Blinder is too obscure of an aircraft to be ever done for the sim, apart from the alphasim one. Oh well, maybe one day I’ll learn to model and I’ll do it…)
Why is the Blinder “too obscure”?
Granted, also the Bear, but the Blinder is what I think of when I think of Russian intercontinental bombers being intercepted over the U.S. (and elsewhere, but, you know, as an American, it’s my duty to think we’re the only place in the world that matters, lol
… sigh)(Ok, maybe that’s not so funny… (as I laugh to myself anyway… and then sigh again))
ahah don’t worry, almost every nation has a similar feeling but not everyone admits it (I’ve lived in a couple countries). The Blinder is iconic for sure but saw very limited use. It was more of a tactical semi-supersonic attack aircraft. The Tu 95 is a legend of aviation, I remember very fondly the freeware tu95 of FSX era, at the time it was very high quality for a freeware. Or, even better, the tu-114 from Samdim design for fs2004
Oh wow! I wasn’t expecting progress that quickly! Looks absolutely amazing!
My apologies. I am very excited and I hope it releases soon!
It’ll be interesting with such a monstrous fighter plane. If plane a goes mach 2, then make everything 150% bigger and it will go mach 3
Any updates or news you could share about this Ive been checking almost daily to see if theres any news
