Turtle Beach Throttle not working at all

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
On-going problem with TH Flightdesk Throttle. There are NO inputs from the throttle. The Joystick part of the Flightdesk is 100% working. The Zen desk suggested several things and lastly resetting my cloud whilst ALL peripherals were disconnected.
I have just disconnected all peripherals, just BT Keyboard and mouse, and ran the cloud command - still the same. when I plug in the joystick first, that works fine, but when I plug in the throttle - NOTHING.

One thing I did find out which might aid your diagnostics is that if I run the hangar software and test the functions of the throttle outside of 2024, everything works ok, BUT if I run the hangar software with 2024 running I get NO responses from the hangar software. This must mean that 2024 is affecting the Turtle Beach Hangar software as well. I did the same with 2020 and everything worked OK including the Hangar software whilst 2020 was running.

It all points to a MSFS 2024 software problem and only you guys can sort that one out.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Yes, the community folder is empty

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Check the Turtle Beach “hangar” software - all OK without 2024 running
  2. Plug in the Joystick and Throttle - joystick OK but nothing from Throttle. Checking the inputs by “scanning” but no response. Tried the “hangar” software whilst 2024 running - no response in that.
  3. Tried updating the firmware, resetting the throttle, changing usb ports, usb cables - still no change.

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

What peripherals are currently plugged in? Please name all of them as there could be a potential conflict. Only Turtle Beach Flightdesk (throttle and Joystick)

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it? No

[PC, MSFS 2020 Only] Are you using DX11 or DX12?

Is your throttle module mapping all set up?
You may have to do it yourself until Turtle Beach submits a predefined controller profile.

Better to ask Turtle Beach why it doesn’t work… SUPPORT@TURTLEBEACH.COM

This is for 2020 specifically, but may help you set it up.

I have the Turtle Beach Flight Controller system and the buttons to change the throttle from Cessna 152/172/etc., and the levers used in jets, got stuck in Twin Engine Jet mode with no way to change it. I went round and round (2 weeks) with Support@Turtlebeach.com so many times, they finally sent me a shipping label to print and send the system back. I decided not to send it back and eat the cost of the $400 I paid for the yoke/throttle system. I don’t trust them any longer. I fear they’d keep the system and say it got lost in transit, that’s the level of incompetence I experienced. I’m still using it in Twin Engine Jet mode.

I am using the Turtle Beach Velocity One Flightdeck Stick and Throttle and have them both working. I will show you two screenshots showing them in the controls set up menu. My Velocity one Rudder pedals show up twice but only one responds to inputs(not sure why)
The way I set up the Stick and Throttle is similar but I will say it has been quite a challenge and the worst part of MSFS 2024 so far.
Sometimes the Throttle doesn’t boot up properly, so make sure the screens are on, on both units. Just unplug right from the Stick or Throttle plug back in and make sure the screens are on.
When setting up a profile for each unit, go to the gear wheel where it says none. Click on the gear wheel and select Duplicate then you can begin your own mappings. I believe even with the duplicate profile it has all the pre programed Turtle beach settings. Go to the filters and show all to see the mappings.
After I set up my stick (leaving trim on the thumb selector as it did not like being changed) I moved onto the Throttle.
I once again set up a duplicate profile and named it. The set up panel doesn’t say which is the stick or throttle so I named them both as seen in the screenshots.
The hardest part was getting the throttle to map for the four engine aircraft. Axis 1 and 2 for engines 1 and 2 were fine but when I tried to get the axis to appear for engines 3 and 4 the throttle would always register as I believe button 34 and 35.
I persisted to map the axis for engine 3 and 4 and found that leaving the throttle just off the bottom or top stop points allowed it to register the axis. (same as 1 and 2)
It is a real pain but I have it working. I use the flap lever on the throttle for my propeller axis and it works great. Just remember some of the axis also need to be reversed in the gear wheel setting for each particular axis.
I wanted to fly the A400M but until I figured this out I had nothing but problems. On the A400M you also need to look at the Tablet in the aircraft and set up the Throttles according to the manual. This throttle does have the reverse thrust setting so I checked the appropriate setting(can’t remember which off hand)
I hope this helps as I am now flying bush planes, fighter jets and multi engine aircraft with no major problems.
I still have a ton of things to set up but it is all rather confusing.
I wish we had the option to just import our MSFS 2020 control bindings.
On the throttle I use the left outermost switch for full flaps and retract flaps and use the inner switch for flaps 1. I use the central lower button press to toggle spoilers and its working fine.
Hope you get it working. You can certainly try your own mappings but this new method is confusing as ever. Good luck to you.
