Hi there, I just wanted to let everyone know that there is an Firmware upgrade available. I updated from 1.4 to 1. 5.. Just thought I’d give a heads up.
1.5.0 came out last July, but it’s a good one because it fixes the problem with trim going bonkers.
I put the patch 1.5 on my system in the summer and it does fix the sudden trim changes.
A little frustrating considering how long we waited for the patch and how often Turtle Beach blamed Microsoft and Microsoft blamed Turtle Beach (according to the forums).
Now if they’d just fix the disappearing brakes…
In my case, the brakes disappearing only seldom happens. Goes for months working well and then poof…no brakes. Re-enable them and good for another few months. Compared to the trim issue… a minor inconvenience. Love my TB Yoke and rudders.
You got me all excited for an actual fix. I don’t think we should hold our breath. The last “update” changed their logo on the panel. Who was calling for that?
I wish there was a reasonably priced functioning yoke on the market.
Myt issue is the trim wheel. It has a mind of its own.
Strange…update TB flash 1.5 fixed the trim issue on my TB Yoke. It was still overly sensitive but that can be adjusted inside the sim.
You still have to adjust trim sometimes after coming out of autopilot. The variables (trim setting) are often changed during AP and sometimes to rather large values +15 or -15. As the trim wheel is not mechanically moved by the trim setting, you have to watch for these high value differences.
In real life the AP actually turns the trim wheel. In the sim, after using autopilot I just make sure the trim wheel is manually set to the last trim setting seen when in AP.
No more -100 dive to a face plant into the earth. Haven’t experienced that for months.
I saw that update V1.5 , I tried everything to update my system to no avail. I have X Box x and followed the cable connection as described several times but the Yoke display screen stays showing “Update Mode” and nothing is happening
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
I haven’t had any problem updating through the app for the TB Yoke on Xbox. Be sure you are using the right cables. Keep in mind that the rudder cannot be connected. Do not use the pass through cable.
I update the rudders through my computer as I have had problems updating through the XBox app with the rudders. That may also work for the yoke although I haven’t tried it.
Thanks for your reply, I am using the correct cable, the rudder cables disconnected as you say but I then use the TB yoke ,settings, updates and follow the instructions, all lights on the TB one flight go out and “update mode” shows on the screen and it stays like that for ever. I did try to download the TB app on my laptop but it doesn’t seem to have anything useful to help with the update, what ami missing or doing wrong here ? I don’t use my laptop at all with my Flt Sim and XBox setup.
Which App do you use and did you get it from App. Store ?
Do I need a computer to update this version 1.5 ?
You shouldn’t need anything other than the the app from Turtle Beach which I downloaded directly from Turtle Beach. I didn’t have any problem updating to 1.5. It went smoothly.
I only suggested using the computer as an alternative approach. Much like you…I only fly with an Xbox X.
Perhaps you could ask Turtle Beach support. They might have an answer or a different solution. I know they have a separate app which allows you to factory reset your Yoke and then update it again if something hoes wrong with the update sequence.
Sorry I couldn’t be more help.
Thank you , you have all been very helpful, but after so many different tries my whole system went crazy, I lost rudder and brakes but showed they are connected, Elevator trim kept going mad each flight, so I finally did a hard reset of Xbox and luckily everything worked perfectly after that except for the elevator trim problem which only occurred once in 5 days of flying. I have now resigned myself to staying with version 1.4 and enjoying my flying again and occasionally dealing with the trim issue. I will continue to try at some stage to update to version 1.5 but in the meantime I like to do some flying.
