I’m just curious more than anything. Is anybody having issues while playing the game at 120fps with the latest Samsung tvs? The colors flicker really fast between light and dark. I’ve tried every solution that I could find. It runs fine at 60fps.
What is the refresh rate of the TV? Maybe that has something to do with it…
I’ve seen this on some monitors when using VRR with 120hz . The only way I know to fix it is by using a resolution no higher than 1440p/120 when using VRR. Now this is for monitors, I don’t know about TVs, but I understood it’s due to a limitation in low quality IPS screens.
Hisense U7/8 series chews it up and spits it out no problem. Same with any LG OLED.
Although make sure you have any gsync/freesync game options turned on on your TV, are using the correct 2.1 HDMI port and the cable is of good quality.

I have the best quality hdmi cable out there and game mode doesn’t really do anything to solve it. The game tends to lag a bit too when the flickering happens when looking at controller settings.
The tv says it can do 120fps. It happens in other games too.
Is this a new TV that’s doing this every time? And make sure it’s using a 2.1 HDMI port, sometimes it’s not HDMI 1, could be ports 3/4.
Not initially. It’s fine as long as I stay on the current input. But if I change input to say my directv and back, the flickering starts. It seems to lag the game too a bit. Idk if that’s related or not
Check for a reddit thread for your TV model, I’m sure plenty of gamers outside the FS universe have come across this and find out if it’s a setting or an issue with the TV. The tv could have a bad board or could be something silly like a motion enhancement setting blocking unrestricted 120hz.
ETA: make sure all those motion settings are disabled.
I couldn’t find anywhere if you have an Xbox or a PC. I also have a Samsung TV that does 120Hz refresh and it’s as smooth as can be when I have freesync enabled on my 7900xtx on my PC. With AMD gpu’s, you have to turn on freesync at the Adrenalin driver level - I’m not sure about Nvidia gpu’s. I will get the occasional jitters when freesync is off but only barely noticeable.
