Two big issues with floating panels (eg map panel, ATC panel) in VR

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

  1. FIRST ISSUE: Panels (like the ATC or map panel) that one opens in VR are still visible when changing to external view. Not sure whether this is supposed to be a feature or a bug, but everyone I’ve heard talk about it hates it and wants panels to only be visible while in the cockpit.

Making it toggle-able would probably be the ideal solution. Otherwise, default behavior should be CLOSED in external view and VISIBLE in cockpit.

  1. SECOND ISSUE: Any open panels are removed/closed as soon as one enters the menu via Esc and then returns to the cockpit. This is extremely annoying since quickly going into the menu is quite a common thing to do. So you spend a lot of time constantly re-opening panels that you have already opened.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time panels are opened in VR, both issues occur if one takes the described actions.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Start a flight in VR
  2. Open a panel like the ATC panel
  3. Switch to external view - it’s still visible (= ISSUE 1)
  4. Go back to cockpit view and press Esc to open the menu
  5. Return to the game - any previously open panels are now closed again (= ISSUE 2)

MEDIA

Currently not at my PC so I can’t add media, but the description should be enough. They are both very simple problems that can easily reproduced with minimal effort.

Would just like to add my support to this as I fail to understand why it was changed. The first part has been addressed before and if I remember correctly featured as a request to be voted for. Indeed, I also submitted a bug report but of course there as been no response.

The second part I agree is annoying, but at least when you recall them they return to where they had been, rather than back at the top of the view, which sort of helps.
