I don’t know anything about it, but I’ve always wondered if there was a relatively simple way to change the type of tree cover over a large area. For example, in my mountain area, mixed forests with a predominance of deciduous predominate, and fs shows typical boreal, evergreen forests.

AFAIK you can only adjust the fauna setting.
I noticed this too. As a recent flight simmer, I was excited to visit the land of my birth in Asia. Immediate disappointment set in when I visited my parents’ small hometown. Not one coconut tree! Localizing the flora & fauna would be a great addition.
