I’m currently looking into NVidia Surround to use 3 monitors. Has anyone tried this?
I find using only 1 screen most of it is taken up by the instrument panel. It would be good to have the screen just for the window view.
I’m also researching ways to have the instruments on a separate screen like an iPad or another monitor but people have suggested that Air Manager is the only option for this at the moment.
Is it worth using Nvidia surround or just better to get an Ultrawide monitor? I really want to create something where you get a wider field of view while flying. I’ve used Ultrawide before but found that what you gain horizontally you loose out vertically.
MSFS currently has no multi monitor support or FOV slider. So both are ill advised right now.
Although I’ve been reading around that nvidia surround works well I think. I don’t have any experience on that.

If your PC has a built-in graphics card (on the motherboard) with DVI output, then connect a monitor there.
After that, you can run other programs in windowed mode. That is my principle!
1.Monitor Full HD over HDMI (Nidia GTX 770)

Even though it doesn’t work right at all I cannot go back from even badly broken nVidia surround.
Keep in mind that you are going to be tripling your pixel count and that will effect performance.
I’m using 4 monitors now, 3 on surround and the 4th for things like Rex Weather, music and whatnot.
If I had it to do over I think I would like one ultrawide and a second for pop outs and stuff.
Go with 1 Ultrawide Curved monitor (49" or so) and then get some smaller pannels to mount below it for instruments, charts, etc…
Air Manager works great!
I did what skypilot suggested. 49” Sansung ultrawide, FlightVelocity panel with 6 Logitech flight panels, logitech yoke and throttle, Logitech radio panel, autopilot panel, Saitek pro rudders
Working here with 3 Monitors over NV-Surround.
Works great and I will never ever go back to a 49" Ultrawide-its to small

Can you share a pic of it with the sim running? (cockpit view)?
As for the cockpit, is that just cardboard cutouts / paper printed panels up top? (hard to see because of the darkness).
That picture is the sim running!
Here you can see a little more.!

I’m on a Samsung 49" G9. I LOVE it. The breaks in the picture with multiple monitors would drive me insane. That’s why I went UW.
What a pity. If the tin foil on the left and right windows is replaced with a screen window, it will be perfect… Advanced diy players give you a thumbs up for your support
I’ve run both and ultrawide and AMDs version of surround. To me its all about the number out display outputs you want for the sim or other things.
I ended up sticking with the ultrawide so I only used one 1 output for the sim and could use the others for popouts and NeoFly.
Going 3 wide on monitors can look really good. iIf you have slim bezels and angle them right, it can be hardly noticeable. But nothing will be as seem less as an ultrawide.

Can Nvidia surround be used for just 1 ultrawide monitor? The problem is MSFS does not have an FOV slider so everything is just stretched on an ultrawide compared to a normal monitor.
So nowadays it is better to use a non ultrawide monitor for MSFS2020?
It’s all opinion, I say even with the blatant warts it’s all better than just one 16:9 to me.
Keep in mind every pixel you add takes away from your frame rate.
Well for me I have a 21:9 ultrawide and I notice a lot of stretching on the sides and since there’s no FOV slider at the moment, it doesn’t feel that advantageous. It’s great for other games and productivity though so I think my monitor upgrade was worth it for those. For MSFS, not that much at the moment. Unless someone here can give tips on how to solve the FOV issue.
FOV can be influenced to a certain degree via the cameras.cfg since you can adjust the position of the ‘pilot’s head’ as well as the FOV angle. Of course if you increase the FOV angle you will get stretching on the sides. It reacts very similarly to a real wide-angle lens.
The advantage is that you can adjust it specifically for each plane the way you want
