How to build the path to runway which has one taxiway junction at middle of runway?
For example, USII airport.
How to make AI aircraft turn to runway, taxi to the end of runway, make a U-turn at the end and have a take-off?
Default settings doesn’t have a “normal” AI operation at USII. All take-offs happens outside of runway.
Does developers know this bug? Any ideas?
let me see if i understand what you want to do is a backtrack?
(term used in aviation.)
Yes, I want to do a backtaxi.
I saw that at your airport and a big backtrack, but come on, I’ll try to explain it in a way with images. At the airport that I created my backtrack is smaller than yours but the concept is the same.
yellow lines: create taxiways with runway ownership.
Purple lines: create taxiways with standard properties (you can name your taxiways as you like or leave it blank as I did on some pieces of my taxiways that connect the track)
as you can see in the following images you will have to create several taxiways path with runway properties. afterwards and only you come creating your normal taxiway and merge the ends.
At one point I did not merge the points because the AI’s planes did not stop at the right takeoff point and continued to taxi back halfway up the runway.
Always tip: develop, compile and test, to get this backtrack in my scenario it took many hours to open and close the sim (alt + f4 hehehe)
any questions please contact me I make a video and send you to explain better.
Hi. I also encountered an AI problem on the lanes where the TAXIWAY is almost in the middle of THE runway of the UWKJ airfield, I did not understand the instructions a Little (the planes began to taxi to the ends and take off, but only from one end, in my case 16 or 34. Hence the question. from the taxiway and across the entire runway, we make a taxiway path, at the ends of the piece in the properties we make the taxiway proper to the runway. Right? Or did I miss something and just need to wait for the AI to learn how to behave correctly on such runways
I didn’ understand your fifth and sixth images. When you turn from taxiway to runway, where your path merge the runway?
Should it goes as a separate path all the way down to the end of runway to make a U-turn?
Or you merge the runway somewhere and this is enough for AI to continue on runway till the end?
At first, the AI took off from RW34 and when the wind changed, they did not want to take off from RW16, Then they managed to launch the AI from RW16 and when the wind changed, they stopped taking off from RW34. At the junction of the runway and the RD, I tried to do the direction of the RD as runway 34 and runway 16, it did not help. Or did I miss something? On the ends did after taxi path as a runway then just as a path. I didn’t understand the impact. Thank you for any help (FSX was much easier with this
Did try your taxi paths - doesn’t help.
Also tried other thousands - result is the same
Alt+F4 is my favourite command…
But I found some AI behaviors:
It’s stops at HOLDSHORT, and taxiing to runway path following taxiway path until the distance to runway will be shorter then some number. After this point AI turn to runway following the shortest way, sometimes out of taxiline.
For experiment, I put HOLDSHORT to the end of runway and AI made a perfect backtaxi, but other aircraft just ignroed that the runway is busy with the taxiing aircraft.
So, most probably, we have to wait for patch. Btw, oneway taxipath could be very useful. Hope developers will think about it.
you put HOLDSHORT no draw ?in point da taxiway.
the hold short command without the draw they do not obey and enter the track without the atc authorizing
Yes, but even so, they doesn’t reach this HOLDSHORT point and turns around on the first merge point between RUNWAY path and TAXI path on the end of the runway.
