Altimeter Setting Incorrectly Displayed in Window of Various Altimeters

[ALT1] Standard pressure, AD elevation should read 1417ft, altimeter is off by 300ft! But what is even worse, is that the altimeter setting works in the opposite way as it is supposed to be! [ALT2] Here, I increased the barometric reference by 10hPa, so the altimeter readout should increase by 300ft, but it drops by 300ft! How can one get such a basic and fundamental function wrong?
