Unable to complete High Performance Certification exam in VR

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

I am unable to take-off in the C400 that the exam requires me to use. It is only in this mission though. If I do a free flight from the same airport in the C400, I take off just fine. Without changing anything, I load the High Performance exam and suddenly it’s stuck to the ground.

I was able to complete this certification.
I added a notch of flaps and lifted off the ground at about 75kts.

I had to do it several times cause it won’t slow down as quick like the 172 lol.

btw: video can be captured with the Xbox gamebar:

That’s what’s weird. If I get setup on free flight, one notch flaps, full throttle, prop, and mix, it works fine. I rotate at Vr and take off nice and smooth. Exit that, load into the HP exam, do the exact same thing and I can’t lift off. I’m full back on the yoke and roll off the end of the runway. Bumpy topo makes me bounce off the ground, but it goes right back down and crashes.

That’s why I put in the bug report. If it did this no matter where/how I tried to take off, I could see this being a problem with my gear or setup. It’s the fact that all my stuff works just fine… until I load the exam. It’s something with that specific mission.

• The airplane will start but then stop and won’t restart. Unable to complete the module because of this issue.

for grins & giggles, what if you try to take off from the taxiway? I mean, is the ground a magnet or just the runway?

I did that certification as well and I have never encountered this issue.

did you use the C400 in free flight before career/certification?
Checking if there’s a conditional limitation between career -first time vs career -already used plane in something else.

I didn’t use the plane until the career certification.

I didn’t use the plane until the career certification.

I played exclusively in Career so no.

Well, interestingly, I just tried that and it worked. Then I tried the runway and it worked. I also did something else different: I didn’t use VR.

Every attempt before this I was in VR. Since this was going to be a quick check to see if I could take off from the taxiway, I didn’t bother with getting VR setup. I was able to take off from the taxiway so I restarted and the runway worked.

I also noticed something else: engine sounds. In VR, I was not hearing the engine rev. The PFD showed RPMs increasing so I knew it was working, but I couldn’t hear it before. This time, I heard the engines. Not sure if something with VR might be messed up.

awesome, cha-ching!

when the same objective works & doesn’t work between players, the first key is to find what’s different, aka a priori, to zero in on the problem area.

Can you edit the title to specify VR is involved?

Curious I have this too. Will check without VR later on too.
