Unable to get IFR clearance between BIRK and BIVM

I created this IFR flight plan, Flight Planner , and was unable to contact clearance on the ground. Metoblue was showing both airports under IFR. The only departure option out of BIRK was direct. I also rechecked procedures with the G1000 because they sometimes are missing from the flight planner or don’t hook up from the EFB transfer.

I also avoid loading the flight plan while on the world map as that seems to get things messed up.

I didn’t think I’d be able to get VFR clearance from the tower but it seemed to be ignoring that the airport was under IFR. I figured I could just take off VFR and then get clearance once in route. But this time the only option in the ATC menu was for nearby airports for the remainder of the flight.

Is there just missing ATC data in the sim for Greenland and Iceland?
Am I doing my flight plans wrong?
Are these just random ATC bugs?

Sometimes random. If I get issues with ATC from the off, I always take the time to restart or reload the flight because once ATC doesn’t work at departure you know your flight will be full of problems.
On the whole the SIM ATC is still full of bugs :bug: :expressionless_face:. :cockroach: :cricket:

Thanks, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t doing something wrong. I haven’t done much IFR in the sim the past couple of years.

I ran your flight plan and noted that I had to contact “ground” to get the IFR clearance. Not sure if they actually have a clearance freq or not. If they do have a clearance freq, then it’s a bug; if they don’t have one, then contacting ground would be a suitable procedure.
In any case, ATC definitely has many issues!! Regardless, hope you got your flight done!!
