After I bought fenix and downloaded the exe installer version 1.0.2.104
I run the installer and it gives me a message " community packages path of microsoft flight simulator not found, please make sure the flight simulator is correctly installed on this computer."
I have steam version
It’s been awhile since I installed mine, but before you get to that point does the installer ask you which version you are on? Or give you an option to select the community folder manually?
The told me to reinstall msfs and try again, it didn’t help, I have a suspicion that it might be a special character in my username on windows, and I don’t want to reinstall windows.
Special characters in your user name will indeed cause issues with MSFS.
This quote is from MSFS support FAQ:
“CREATE A NEW LOCAL PROFILE WITHOUT USING SPECIAL CHARACTERS
If you have special characters (such as à, ù, Å, ò) in your Windows Profile, create a new local user or administrator account in Windows 10 with no special characters and run Microsoft Flight Simulator from that profile.”
Although an older topic, I now experience similar problems.
I installed a new PC. Installed back MSFS without problems.
Next want to reinstall Fenix A320. Login to their site, reactivated my licence. The Fenix installer exe is downloaded and installed. But then starting this installer fails. I see only a blanc screen for a split second and than gone.
Repeated the download, but no success. Just a short blanc screen and than gone.
My previous installation on the old PC was without problems.
Anybody a clue? I have no idea what to do next. Could it be windows defender blocking the app from running?
