Are you unable to load a SimBrief flght plan into your aircaft Garmin 430/530 GPS in MSFS2020? If so, the following suggestions might help:
Use Little Navmap (LNM): Load your SimBrief flight plan into LNM, then export it in MSFS format. This can help bridge the gap between SimBrief and the sim’s internal systems.
GTN750 Toolbar Trick: If you have the GTN750 installed (even the free version), you can use its toolbar panel to import the flight plan from ATC. This sometimes pushes the plan into the GNS units as well.
Manual Entry: You can manually input waypoints into the GNS530 using the PROC and ENT keys. It’s tedious, but it works if you’re flying IFR and need precision.
If you’re using mods or custom liveries, it’s worth disabling them temporarily to rule out conflicts.
In researching the above, my Simbrief Downloader app AND also the MSFS World Map, were creating .pln files of size 5 kb. When using Little Nav Map as an intermediary step the .pln file for the identical flight was 7 kb. This suggests that something essential is not being included when using the SimBrief Downloader app.
Important note: You must delete ALL previous unsuccessful flightplan files from your MSFS2020 flight plan destination folder before doing the above. If you don’t, you will get a BSD - you have been warned!
