msfs-2024 ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

I am unable to move around / walk around at all. I have tried all default keyboard bindings, which initially work but when I pause the game and resume, they suddenly stop working. I then tried creating a new binding and that didn’t work. Then I tried using an xbox controller where I bound the move around axis; that initially worked but as soon as I hit pause and resumed, it stopped working which is identical to what happens when using the default keyboard bindings. This is very frustrating as I can’t even begin career mode which as I can’t move around.
Has anyone else experienced this or is there a workaround

I can’t move or walk around.

I’ve scientifically discovered that randomly clicking left and right mouse buttons unlocks the ability to look and move around.

Same.

I only “play” (or I try to at least) vr and this happens one out of three flights on career mode. I spawn next to the aircraft but cannot move (I have mapped walking control to my hotas, but does not work with keyboard either). Sometimes the toolbar does not appear either, sometimes it does.

I sometimes start in walking mode and not only can’t move at all (mouse freelook does work) but all the keyboard imputs bar alt+tab doesn’t work either. I can’t even escape to menu and have to close the game from task bar.

That’s exactly the problem I often have!! It’s incredibly annoying. If I do manage to get into the flightdeck, it happens again, randomly. I can’t use freelook or click any menus, or even escape to the main menu.

I have figured it out (I’m on pc using kbm). I faced the same exact issue and couldn’t find anyone with a solution. Since I couldn’t exit the game as I couldn’t see the minimize or x at the top right of the screen I considered that maybe the game wasn’t where my keys where being used since I couldn’t walk either. So after closing the game from taskbar and reopening the game I went to the settings in graphics I changed the display mode from fullscreen to window and I adjusted the edges of the window to fit the screen and not go beyond the screen. Save that and loaded into the game and it WORKS!!!

• I now can’t get the pilot to move outside the aircraft. Only the direction of view by holding down the mouse wheel and moving the mouse. It used to work using the arrow keys and the designated keyboard letters but not anymore. Can’t clear pitot cover, engine cover etc so flying impossible.

•msfs 2024 PC verison, Career mode, cannot get pased walkaround in PPL test . Had problem with it during the lessons also,

Hey All, I have a similar problem, I’m doing the activities but can’t do the Pre-flight exercise in the Take off and Landing section because my controls won’t work so I can’t move around, they work ok on all other exercises so my fault seems to be specific to this one…. so far.

My set up:

ACER Nitro PC with MSFS 2024 Steam

Logitech gamer mouse, X56 throttle and joystick, gamer keyboard.

I’ve tried unplugging devices and using pc keyboard, still doesn’t work on this exercise, the suggested window display screen doesn’t work either.

Btw, fyi, alt + return is the shortcut for switching between the 2 displays. :slight_smile:

Is there a tech wizard out there who can tell me where the magic button is?
