Updated to SU7 and made a couple of flights with the A32NX developement version (DX11). It was quite stuttery, but apart from that, it worked fine.
I knew the FBW team recommends switching to the experimental version after SU7 so I did that, and also recovered some settings changed by SU7 (something not particularly rare after a sim update).
Well, I don´t know if it is related to the change from developement to experimental version in the FBW A32NX or because I changed something I shouldn´t have in the settings, but now I cannot request IFR clearance from ATC after loading a flight from simbrief in the MCDU (that was not a problem in my first flights with de developement version and SU7).
If I request anything other than “straight out departure”, I´m denied departure permision because “the airport is working under IFR”, but the ATC menu does not show the “request IFR clearance” option, as it has for the last year.
They switched their new FMS to the dev today. The new FMS doesn’t communicate with the sim ufn. So if you want to use the ATC for IFR flights, you need to add the Flightplan in Sims Worldmap first, than you can add your regular Fligptplan in the A32nx MCDU again.

I re-designated the solution to this issue as the solution that allows flight plans from SimBrief to work is indeed the solution offered by @AppearingSix65
For what it’s worth I use the ‘standard’ FBW model and on Saturday (UK) I was unable to set the departure and arrival runways in the flight computer following the latest update but yesterday Sunday they issued an update and it now works perfectly. I don’t use third party navigation but plan the route in-sim then use the flight computer and all working as normal again plus normal ATC comms .
Somewhat related question, can you get atc to recognise your correct cruise altitude when it syncs? When I tried it last it would clear me to 9k feet or so and I’d have to request cruse alt changes to manually force the correct cruise altitude.
If you get IFR Clearance before taking off ATC will guide you to your flight plan altitude. If you change destination after getting clearance, they give you one or two altitudes usually bellow 15000ft and you have to go from there.
Just did two flights and ATC wouldn’t send me past 15000 without requesting an increase. So my previous comment is not correct now. Seemed to work yesterday I thought!
Thank you for that I tried it and it worked. Something so simple yet so frustrating. Is there a similar fix for the B78XH dream liner as there is the same fault with it? I quite enjoy flying the 787 but not in VFR
Even with the right settings in the EFB i sometimes cannot ask for IFR clearance.
I believe it is related to some error while importing SimBrief’s flight plans.
I noticed that if i (restart the same flight) enter the wole thing by hand i can then ask for IFR Clearance!
has this been fixed yet? on the WT CJ4 mod, imported simbrief plan will still let you request IFR clearance even without no sim world map plan loaded. For the FBW mod, can you do the same?
It sucks at first and it took a little while to get use to…
I started just using vfr straight out request… Not realistic but I got used to it, allowed me to fly/depart using ATC, then was able to fly to my required altitude and descend without waiting on ATC clearance and getting those annoying… “please descent to…” when you went past a altitude clearance and couldn’t contact ATC because you were changing frequency etc…
Now I simply do not use it now and I simply don’t miss it at all…
Plus I find now that I almost always get 100% recordings of take-offs and landings on my logbook thing…
Maybe for the very least… ATC take-off clearance if it’s a big airport and I want to use the correct taxiways but… How many times do we end up getting assigned the downwind runway…
