No idea what to do now.
Tried PC restart. No joy.
It’s random. I start with the icon. It fails… do the same thing a few times, fails. And then out of the blue, it doesn’t fail.
I have 2 solutions for u first lets check and make sure this issue isn’t being caused by an incompatible mod in the community folder so make sure to remove everything from there.
if the solution above doesn’t work for you then lets move onto the next step on rare case it could be possible that there might be some corrupt files and in that case I would just suggest you to do a complete fresh install of the game.
Thanks… Tried the Community folder. No joy. Crashing with same error.
So here we go. Deleting the Flight Sim folder (Official and Community), and will reinstall.
No worries everything is going to be fine sometimes we all get issues that we can’t find answers to and it ruins our experience but that’s okay I’m here to help you just make sure to keep this thread post it so I’m able to further help you with this situation.
My God. The game will not install now. Download the installer, screen goes black, and then crashes instantly.

Hmm weird but okay I have found an answer for such an error on the Microsoft forums maybe try it see if it helps you here you go
I suspect now the issue may not be the sim itself but maybe your system
Yeah, when I follow that site you sent:
hm interesting run SFC /scannow it should scan ur system for any corrupt files and fix them
but considering we already attempted every possible fix for the sim I’m suspecting its more or less an issue with your system make sure to restart after your done.
I’m currently trying to find a working fix for you if the sfc scan doesn’t help you

Thanks so much. sfc found some issues and said it resolved. Restarted. same issue. So something is broken on my PC. Concidering upgradeing to Win 11. If it fails, will do a fresh Win 10 rebuild, but wouldn’t mind seeing if Win 11 works. But it seems there’s something fishy.
Just tried again, and it’s started the installer. No idea whats going on.
No problem, and yes that would be the best next step to take but not all hope is lost there is 1 last thing we could try out of a miracle to help you and that would be to use the dism system image repair tool.
run the commands in this format
- Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
- Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
- Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
I switched to Insider Program to get Windows 11… not realising that when you do that - it starts installing! Not asking, “Do you want to install Win 11”.
So, I’ll let that complete and see what happens.
Same issue/ Installed Windows 11.. Install worked… Did all the updates… and then… closed…

Did you already have a solution ?
Not yet. Well, maybe. I had a third party FPS display app. I removed it and managed 2 loads with short flights yesterday. No crash. So will try a few today and see if it’s cleared. I’ll report here later and tell you. But removing the FPS overlay app seems to have helped.
Well thats something ! who expect that a fps counter give trouble. I only use Nvidia fps.
i had same problem did a fresh install, still nothing, than delete in regedit localuser/microsoft/gameservice,
reboot and now is working.
Good luck
