The collective in helicopters behaves erratically and jumps up and down on its own, making it Impossible to control. There is no such problem in msfs-2020. Anyone no how to fix this?
Topic moved from the Discussion Hub as it is more suitable in a Support Hub category.
I would suggest you check for conflicts on your controller profiles.
Thanks guys, will check later
What a horrible system. You can’t change the settings of a controller to start from scratch without jumping through hoops. I’ve gone through all the settings and removed those that might interfere, but the collective still has a mind of it’s own, making it impossible to fly. I may have to start from scratch but don’t know how to reset all controllers.
All assists are off by the way.
If it’s jumping back and forth, it’s almost cenrtainly 2 controllers fighting each other. So check all devices that you have where the collective is bound and remove those bindings. (Or increase the deadzone)
This is one of my complaints as well. I use SPAD, assigning almost no control binds in the sim. I just want a button that creates a blank profile for each of my controllers. I’d rather build a control profile in the sim from the ground up, than tear down the existing profile brick by brick.
Try to select the Profile “none”. It is empty, then start Building your new bindings. Or copy one existing Profile and use “remove”(in german “entfernen”) (not delete/ “löschen”) at the small cogwheel. Worked for me.
At the risk of sounding dense, aren’t assists supposed to, er, assist?
It seems, they are disabled in Career Mode, though.
My helicopters are all jumping around. Just got my level up to high A reputation then i go to buy my company and buy a helicopter and it crashes 3 times and i never even step inside it. Wtf i lost money and career level. I have videos please tell me how to submit thia so my account can be corrected.
Some of my controllers are populated under “none”.
Personally I don’t want or need the assists for helicopter, so they are off.
Helicopters just take off on their own and there are no assignment conflicts, the collective is only assigned to the collective. I haven’t tried dead zone and don’t really see why I should need it, never have before.
I will keep persevering, but suspect a reinstall is on the cards.
Tried full assist. Deleted all keyboard/mouse shortcuts to do with power still takes off on it’s own and collective is random.
OK. Thanks for the help guys, it was the throttle assignment that was doing it, I had the wrong axis, it’s not very clear which one to choose. I remembered it from 2020.
