Starting to see ads for Xbox X. I now have a Xbox s. Should I wait and see if Xbox s will run fs2020 or go for Xox now. Last question when will we see FS2020 come out, this month or next?

Might be best to wait a couple weeks until the Microsoft E3 style show, where hopefully more will be shown off / discussed.
Also, I should imagine it will depend on the screen you’ll be using .The Series X is said in the trailer to be running at 4k (although probably using reconstruction to get there), so if you have a 4k panel you may see a difference.
As to a release, that is also an unknown at the moment - the general consensus is perhaps around August, although there’s also the long shot hope of a stealth drop during E3.
Time will tell.

Considering the game is 127GB without mods nor cache, you won’t have much space left on a Series S after installing FS2020. (364GB of usable space)
FS2020 also likes a lot of memory, you’re likely better off with a Series X. (10GB vs 16GB)
TAA in FS2020 delivers a very soft picture. I render at 1620p and downscale to 1080p for better results, another reason to go for the X even if you don’t have a 4K tv.

They talk a lot about optimizations because of the port to the xBox, but I can’t imagine it will run smooth on the S.

If you’re buying an XBOX for MSFS and going with the Series S, you’re likely shooting yourself in the foot right out of the gate. Especially if you’re running on a 4K display.

It doesn’t cost you anything to wait since you already have an XBox. The consideration becomes can you get the new version when/if you want it? No idea there.
If you are interested in VR, though, there are still no plans for VR on the new XBox.
