Hello all. Yes, that’s right, I wish to underclock my GPU
My GPU is a GTX 1070 (which I know, isn’t even mid-tier by today’s standards) but I’m comfortably hitting 60fps (as I was before SU5) - only now my GPU is roaring ever so loudly.
And since MFS’s graphical engine is just an unoptimized mess right now, I’d rather keep MFS’s settings as they are and take matters into my own hands by downclocking my GPU.
Whilst I could experiment myself with clock speeds and voltages, I’d really like to save myself the stability issues of playing trial and error. I haven’t had any CTD’s to speak of so far in this sim, so I’d like to keep a good thing going, y’know?
So I’d really appreciate some advice from those who have done this before. The only thing I turned down so far was “Power Target” (down to 90%) and the temp has respectively gone down a few degrees, along with the Fan RPM. OK, great start.
Now my question is, should I continue dialing this particular setting down? Is this an effective way to downclock, or should I really be turning down at least one of: Core Clock/Memory clock/GPU voltage to efficiently and safely power it down?
I’ll post my current settings if that would help answer the question. Thanks in advance.
