An uninstall of the MSFS2024 program does delete all of its installed files and it does not clear the rolling cache.
If the rolling cache size needs to be reduced due to consumption, there is no way to reclaim that unused space, even if uninstalling and starting from scratch.
I have same issue, after uninstall the game then I have 16GB less on my hard drive.
What is the solution?
I don’t know if this will help, but I manually delete the folder C:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 every time I uninstall. This folder is not automatically deleted even when uninstalled.
