Given the time and complexity of restoring to the Vanilla state, is it not simpler to uninstall and reinstall the program/addons?
Can you elaborate a bit more?
Are you talking MSFS, Windows, Third party?
MSFS running under Windows 11, on a high-end MSI PC. Its just a general question really. MSFS will not load normally, I am using the power shell option. I been through the checklists and get to the vanilla state recommendation and realized I was about to devote way too much time to fixing what is likely an MS issue. I know that third party addons can have issues, but when you load them up and they run for week or more without issues, it is hard to believe they are the culprit when everything goes to â– â– â– â– .
They may not be!
But to prove it is the sim, and not the addons, you do need to remove them.
A reinstall can often cause more issues, and if you are already having issues, it likely won’t solve them.
You will need to find the cause.
Just remove your Community folder from the sim files (cut and paste it somewhere else) .
The next time you try MSFS, it will make a blank new one.
I have tried moving the community folder. No change.
What exactly do you mean by “MSFS will not load normally”?
MSFS would not load using the desktop shortcut created by the XBox app. I was using the express launch option suggested in one of the support articles. I have since uninstalled the simulator and am part way through reinstalling. The issue has seemed to have gone away. More to follow.
