I am currently reinstalling the 2020 game because I’m finding msfs-2024 unplayable.
I’m using a Logitech/Saitek X-56 stick and thrust and the camera just spins and spins, and I’ve checked the axis calibration. The new game has all new controls layout (why?) but in the controls menu I can’t see what they are, nor do I have any idea how to set them up.
The graphics were better on the old game and while it took a lot of space it was quick to load and looked beautiful. This streaming version is so slow and pixelated (I have 60mbps connection).
I’m totally stuck, and wasted £120 on the upgrade. Any help to get started greatly appreciated
I have a Windows 11 PC with a Nvidia 4080 Super and AMD Ryzen 7 set up.
A 60mbs connection sounds too slow to me, but I could be wrong. Aside from that, my experience so far is the complete opposite of yours, and aside from some bugs in aircraft functions and miscellaneous stuff, the actual visual quality and flying experience is much better than FS 2020, especially in VR.
I also have a 4080 Super, but my CPU is an i7-13700K. My internet connection is 1 Gbit Google fiber.
For the controls, just watch this video and all will become clear. It’s really not that difficult once you understand how it works.
No problem. That’s the video that helped me understand the control system, which is very confusing for new players.
For your HOTAS issue, make sure you don’t have any axes assigned to camera controls maybe? Also, you can open up the “Setup USB Game Controllers” configuration in Windows to check if any buttons or axes are being activated without physically pressing on them.
A Frustrating Experience: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 promised a revolutionary flight simulation experience, but unfortunately, it has fallen far short of expectations. The game is plagued by constant crashes, making it nearly impossible to enjoy even a single uninterrupted flight. The stability issues are incredibly frustrating, especially for a premium title like this.
Adding to the chaos, bizarre glitches abound. For instance, cows inexplicably wander across the runway during takeoff, completely breaking immersion and leaving players scratching their heads. The flight controls themselves seem to have a mind of their own, randomly defying user input and making precision flying an exercise in futility.
It is utterly unacceptable that a game of this scale and reputation has been released in such a buggy and unpolished state. Microsoft must address these glaring issues promptly to restore the faith of its loyal player base.
Hey , first off I’m really glad you got your money back. The release version of 2024 was totally unacceptable.
A word of caution about using credit card charge backs though. In my experience that will get your money back to you but it doesn’t necessarily cancel the contract to purchase with the vendor.
If Steam haven’t agreed to cancel the purchase, and decide to pursue, they could start collection proceedings for nonpayment.
It’s unlikely I know, but can (and does) sometimes happen.
