How unfortunate, so beautiful and so unrealistic, accident tolerance worthy of GTA!
Previous Microsoft simulators were much better.
I am strict, but if you do not agree, I understand. It should have been done by aviation enthusiasts, not video games.
Thanks for clarifying!
Hello, Just that the tolerance to accidents, even with fully realistic parameters, is disappointing. To crash you have to do it on purpose. The old sims were more realistic, am I the only one? Yesterday, my cat unplugged the monitor when it walked by, and after turning it on again I found that my airplane had been crossing buildings for several minutes. Finally, the famous black crash screen!!! This is just an example, of course.
What is unrealistic?
Accident tolerance and damage to aircraft.
Iāve flown through a few treetops (!) but, OTH, Iāve achieved too high a velocity a number of times and had the screen go blank with a warning that Iād overstressed the aircraft and suffered a structural failure. There are also the settings to tune aircraft failure and encourage it to happen. I donāt know what the proper limits are - as a rank beginner, Iām glad to be cut some slack, the better to learn from it - but maybe anyone who wants stricter limits should go into settings and adjust failure sensitivity or at least check what their current settings are? Iāve glanced over those settings but havenāt explored them.
@TantalicData801, I changed the title of your thread to reflect your concern more clearly.
For me the accident tolerance is ok, for exemple, I can do belly landings!
Thank you my friend!
Itās hard to be clear but Iām disappointed about FS9, for example, I know that date, but he didnāt forgive mistakes and blunders like that! And yet the realistic parameters are hard!
You cannot cross buildings without getting a crash unless the buildings are part of a third party mod which hasnāt been set properly.
Collisions with trees are a bit different, it seems that the collision is detected only if you cross the center line of the tree, therefore make it possible to have your wing tip touching the side of a tree.
Edit: about other possible crash, structural stress in the air fits what is set for each plane. If you do a negative loop with the Pitts it will have less tolerance to negative Gs than the Extra 300s.
However, I have doubts about structural strength on landings, the planes, especially the airliners seem able to endure very hard landings without problemā¦
Thank you for answering me and yet I swear it happened! Since the beginning that I have only bizareries, beugue of navigation instruments, no traffic, real or AI, detection of accidents, collisions or other random with this superb GTA:woozy_face: I am bitter it is true, but by the beauty I feel stolen by Asobo!
Concerning the landings it is true that it is not easy to evaluate, but 1000 p/mn without damage, it makes think!
Thanks to you
collision with Bing 3D objects is not working properly, true.
But when you have realism settings to maximum, flying into any generic Building will give you the black screen right away.
Same for overstressing the aircraft.
Especially with flying the GA for sightseeing i get into black screens pretty often when not properly monitoring my instruments.
What tolerance are you referring to in particular? Engine stress, airframe integrity, instrumentsā¦? If you were flying through buildings, thatās likely an ongoing bug with some procedural buildings not having any solids. I am not fond of the black screen, but current limits on aircraft seem OK. The limits are indeed seemingly generous in terms of engine stressing or airframe stressing, but it would be hard to accurately reflect those parameters anyway.
Thank you, itās just unfortunate to be so beautiful and miscalculated! Asobo had sold us a modern product while they backed away enormously! I take a new example, you land violently in a dive on the front wheel and nothing happens!
It would seem to be acceptable to the majority, or I accept it.
Thank you all
you have very unrealistic expectations, resulting in dissapointment.
this is never going to be ultra realistic on default, mabye laters with 3rd party, just as
the old sims.
I donāt know if this is exactly what this topic is about, or if I should set up a new topic for this.
I would love some more depth in damage/crashes.
For example a very low speed bump into a building or so results in a black āyouāre deadā screen. Perhaps this makes sense in a B747, the building wonāt stop the heavy aircraft and do some serious damage. But I feel like a Cessna hitting a building at 5 kts could perhaps do some damage, but youād still be able to fly?
Someone mentioned heās able to do belly landings, I couldnāt. Are your crash settings on? Iād love to see the aircraft skid on the runway instead of immediately hitting the black death screen. Then we can end the flight when we feel like it.
Of course, I understand that manufacturers donāt want their aircraft damaged in the sim. So perhaps they could just have the technical damage, without the (extreme) visual damage.
I was just comparing with the previous sim, this one is very āniceā, itās a video game!
