Just flew into EKCH. METAR: EKCH 301450Z AUTO 32020G34KT 9999 NCD 06/M03 Q1012 TEMPO 31025G40KT
I don’t know if anyone else experienced this issue, but the wind was quite constant, no gusts to be recognized at all. That was too smooth for the above mentioned METAR.
Online services seem to be having issues atm - so it’s possible you weren’t receiving live weather correctly. Did the rest of the metar match up, or was it clear skies?
The problem is that wind gusts do not exist in live weather mode. The only option is to set the weather manually. Unfortunately setting live weather + manual wind gusts is not an option yet. At least Asobo should change that.
Or always use meteoblue weather that always reports varied winds compared to the static METAR as advertised before release of the sim it should have realistic & dynamic weather/winds.
How can a METAR report something like this? Why did we need METAR when we actually had the real weather in the sim at release? I’m sure the complains that it needed to match METAR made the winds static as the clouds now are generic as well. If we didn’t complain the weather didn’t match those METARS we would actually still have gusts in the sim now everywhere on earth in varied amount. I want my meteoblue weather back that i had at release.
The wind direction is correct of that METAR to the right. It matches prediction. But METAR cover to less area to create a realistic weather as you can see. Weather isn’t a local thing, it’s global. Meteoblue weather is global. It would look strange if they changed that global picture of weather on those predictions into those local reports. It’s the same in the sim and thats why we can see so many complains about the weather on the forum now. The more things they add from those METARS the more strange it will look&feel. The only things i could have in the sim from METAR is Temp and pressure because they not changes fast. But we can also feel those when they differ from the METAR to much. We have those sudden changes in pressure & temp and that also a tranition between those sources of weather. I would preffer only have forecasted weather and hope they can improve those forecasts accuracy in the future. But only use one source all the time. Changing sources they need to have transitions and that is not good.
IRL weather we only have one source. It’s the sun.
Think Meteoblue as the sun in MSFS. Nothing we and Asobo can change. Asobo can only make that sun (meteoblue) injected into the sim in a correct way. Meteoblue (sun) can be improved by the devs (MSFS god) of that sun. If we want the weather to be more accurate give feedback (pray) to meteoblue devs (GOD).
