Is this some design feature or bug? the last two times the Sim has updated my community folder has been deleted.
I need to redownload everything and now with PMDG I’ve got a ticket logged as I can’t redownload it.

An empty community folder is only the result of either manually deleting the content or it was created again because you renamed it in preperation for an update which will create a new “empty” community folder. Check if you got other community folders, like community.bak or something.
I’m sure if you create a ticket with PMDG and send them your confirmation email they will help you out.
I have never renamed my community folder on any update since SU! never had a problem as far as that goes
As Sath said you must of renamed it so then it will create a new empty folder.
I’ve never renamed my community folder and had it happen twice.
I access my community folder via a desktop shortcut. The same shortcut works to an empty folder.
I last used the Sim Thursday afternoon / evening my time. Closed the PC down on Friday morning and went away for the weekend. Get home Monday, do the update and it’s empty.
PMDG are sorting it out for me. Caused a number of issues though.
Phew…! DELETED.
This means in almost all circumstances dozens over dozens of hand-selected liveries and modded aircraft with peronal Photoshop-edit custom interior and textures gone.
Wow thanks for that warning, I am better making a backup now before launching the Flight Sim the next time.
Never had it happen but I’m happy I use Addos Linker.
It’s a MSFS launcher that lets you select one or more alternate folders for community content. It just creates symbolic links in the file system based off of what you want to load. It also scans the content for conflicts. It’s something so simple it should be part of the sim.
We have always been advised to rename, copy or move the Community folder prior to installing any updates.
This has been the recommendation since day one.
Latest update the exact same thing. I’d not been online for a week or so and was unaware an update came out. Noticed the update screen with the continue button. Before clicking it I opened the shortcut to my community folder on my desktop and it’s empty again.
