Yup the landing light especially drained a lot. So until v1.0.6 is out, just remember to turn off your landing lights when you dont need them. Keeps your Avionics running a lot longer.
Yes agreed totally on the wood. No idea what was going on in my mind at that time ![]()
It looked good though.![]()
Electrical systems looking goodâŠbeen working hard on alternators, battery, amp/watt per subsystem etc. So much to setup. But so far no more Avionics failures.
Just installed v1.0.5 and did a few short flights. Iâm impressed. Well done.
But just a few questions remain:
Airspeed Indicator
Vso is 28 kts but the white arc starts at 62 kts. Vfe is 67 kts but the white arc ends at 113 kts. I always thought the white arc starts at Vso and ends at Vfe.
It looks like the white arc is painted on the instrument cover glass. So it should be easy to correct that white arc.
Trim
For level flight @ 2500 ft / 2500 rpm trim must be set to about 6% DOWN. Is this by intention?
Aux tanks
Auxiliary tanks empty before the main tanks. Is this by design?
Manifold pressure
There is no manifold pressure gauge. But through SimConnect one can read out the manifold pressure. This indicates 36 inHg @ 5500 rpm. At 5800 rmp manifold pressure is about 40 inHg. Are these correct values?
Placard
Max continous power is equal to 75% power (5500 rpm). Is this correct?

âMarge!â
âWhat Henry?â, Marge replied as she brushed cigarette ash off her dressing gown, before it could ignite the brushed cotton.
âI think I will do it!â
âWhat Henry?â
âWrite to that Mike Patey chap & see if he has a spare 13 liter, 780 ci engine he could let us have for our custom GG SCC!â
Marge paused & pondered.
âIsnât that rather big dear?â, she responded.
âPerhaps!â, Henry mused. âBut think of the excitement in the neighborhood when I fire it up at midnight!â
Marge chuckled.

I suppose youâve seen him fire up Scrappy for the first time? What an engine!! Still miss Draco though.
Thatâs a lot of questions Oskar, but theyâre good ones. Iâll answer them quickly ![]()
ASI: Green/Yellow/Red correct as I could paint it manually in Photoshop. The white arc is superimposed and outside my control. Hoping for a future fix in the SDKâŠI know Asobo has given the SDK a high priority (gosh and we need a better one!)
Trim: You are right, this can use further improvement and is on my list for the next version v1.0.6.
Aux tanks: Correct by design. The bladders in the rear seat feed into each wing tank, and when empty, wing tanks are used.
MP: Correct for Rotax 915iS.
Placard: Correct for Rotax 915iS.
Happy flying!
Are the bladders visible?
I flew the other day & in the back there appeared to be 1 red seat. Are they down low, either side of the seat? Couldnât spot them.
TG
The bladders are there but Iâm using the latest cloaking tech ![]()
Landing and strobe lights arenât very bright on the default savage or the Carbon. My co fliers in the group said they didnât really see my lights that well in the group flight yesterday before my electrics went. I was probably too quick for them in the Carbon anyway for them to see me ![]()
I can confirm that point 5 ist actually fixed by raising the CG as instructed. Thank you very much for the quick fix. You are amazing! Cant wait to fly the 1.0.6.
Keep it up!

Indeed.
Amazing stuff.

Thanks guys, and good to know the hotfix for multiplayer sunken planes worked!
I love this bird. Unfortunately, I pranged my prop landing at Dutch Harbor, AK today. To be fair, I was landing into a 65 kt headwind and had to firewall the throttle to maintain forward motion while trying to reduce altitude and meet the runway under full flaps. It felt almost like flying a chopper. Long story short, I managed to touch down and tried to cut throttle and apply brakes to keep from blowing backward when the brakes grabbed and sent me nose over. Despite my frustration with the outcome, it was a total freakinâ HOOT! Oh and for anyone who thinks the water effects in the sim are lame, those waves were awesome, guessing 8-10 ft with whitecaps and spray. Did I mention, I LOVE this bird!
How on earth did you even manage to LAND with such a headwind considering the light weight of the Savage CarbonâŠimpressive!!
v1.0.6 Landing lights will have double the brightness. Strobe lights Iâll be looking at today. Expect the next version to be fully Night VFR ready ![]()
Sheâs getting the works! Following the FAA rules closelyâŠred and green nav lights for the wing tips with proper angles of visibility. Same for the tail (rudder) light. Double flash strobes added to the wing tips too, and the belly strobe is now a brighter double flash.
Electrical systems have been updated so she can take the extra load.
superb job. That will look special
Re the strobes - can they be toggled on/off?
A peculiarity of my flying is the strobe flashes irritate me somewhat & where I can I turn them off.
If not, no matter.
Also, do you have a rough ETA for v6?
Marge wants to try the AP ![]()
