[UPDATE v 1.3.2] Vessels: The Hawaiian Islands | Seafront Simulations

We’re very excited to announce the release of Vessels: The Hawaiian Islands which is now available to PC and Xbox users via the MSFS Marketplace and OrbxDirect. This is our first scenery to feature ‘landable’ moving ships with hard decks.

Welcome to Hawaii, home to the U.S Pacific Fleet, busy working harbours and many tourist destinations. With this scenery you will find thousands of boats populating ports and marinas together with a variety of nautical traffic travelling between and around the eight main islands. That includes many leisure boats such as sailing yachts and motor boats together with the large superyachts that are the reserve of the super-rich. You might also be lucky enough to spot one of the few nuclear-powered submarines that are on exercise near to the islands too…

Of particular note is Pearl Harbor, with its historical significance, wide array of US Navy warships and of course the USS Missouri aka ‘Mighty Mo’. The US fleet is very active around the these islands.

Moving Ships with Hard Decks

This is the first of our sceneries to feature ‘landable’, moving US Navy and tanker vessels that you will find off the coast of most of the airports.

Update v1.3.1 has been published by Orbx and is awaiting release by Microsoft. This is a small update resolving the duplication of the USS Missouri and USS Bowfin if using the World Update 13 - Oceania scenery.

PC users that wish to retain the World Update models can delete the ‘WU13’ folder within the package (seafront-sightseeing-vessels-hawaii/Scenery/seafront-hawaii/WU13).

The small ‘waterfall’ near USS Missouri is an issue with WU13 (reported) and not related to this addon.

Vessels: The Hawaiian Islands has received further updates for greater compatibility with WU13.

  • Users can now see the Aloha Tower Marketplace structures

  • Users can now see the rainbow design on the front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Resort as well as the nearby pier

  • The USS Missouri Model has been updated with raised, uncovered guns

  • The USS Bowfin Model has been updated with guns

This further update was just released via Orbx and is in the queue for Microsoft release. The new models will also be included (with guns shown) due to a revision in Microsoft’s weapon policy for the sim.

The main change is the restriction of “Any depiction of a weapon.” becoming “Any depiction of a weapon except on real-world static memorials, signage, logos.”

Version 1.3.2 (see above) is now available to PC and Xbox via the MSFS Marketplace in addition to Orbx.
