I didnt see any other specific threads related to this, or missed it if so, so this one:
I was able to get past the initial update screen, then it closed.
Upon reopening, it says there are updates 42ish mb worth on the second set.
Its stuck wont go beyond or even start progress.
I’ve tried running as admin to no avail.
Anyone have a fix?
I managed to find a solution, or maybe by coincidence…
I signed out of the xbox app, relaunched the sim as admin.
This time it came up and asked to sign in, after that it said there was a 50+gb update not 40+mb… and it updated just fine.
I think you just re-installed the sim. Did you check whether the repository paths were the same? Since you ran it as admin, I assume it is now in a different localapp folder.
I might be wrong, but I bet when you restart it will ask for an update again.

it seems it downloaded the file, then can’t decompress and start dowloading again, in a infinite loop
