Vertigo got updated with CFD and other good things. Downloading it now…
VERTIGO UPDATE v1.10.0
DOWNLOAD from FLIGHTSIM.TO
Changelog:
- Full CFD, including CFD ground effect
- Cockpit lighting is back!
- Fuel selector arrangement is now (from left to right) > Close / Left / Both / Right / Close
- Less engine torque-on-roll effect
- Working Master Battery switch
- Retuned suspension and ground handling
- Correct control stick animation based on actual control surface deflection
- Control stick ground roll vibrations
- General flight model refinements
- Engine and prop tuning
I still think this is the best plane in the sim for general sightseeing flying… Thanks, @GotGravel!
Thanks for the update! Will give it a try - love this aircraft!
-
Ever since this update, the cockpit screens are not visible when viewing from an outside camera. The flight deck is completely flat, devoid of any screens.
-
The L+R fuel selector is a game-changer. Thank you for that. Please introduce that to the Monster NX Cub as well. Thank you.
It would be great to introduce the same performance profile and the engine to TBM 930 (or 960!). That big an engine will fit well under the hood of a TBM. Please do consider.
And thank you once again for this amazing product.

CHANGE LOG
- Brand new flight model based on latest research and MSFS abilities
- Prop performance at take-off normalized (reduced), was made a bit crazy in a recent SU…top speed not affected (no worries, you still can do 350kts+)
- Much improved ground handling (a fair bit easier to handle, just keep that throttle in check)
- Improved gear suspension
- Fixed and much improved lighting (brighter (recent SU’s dimmed it a lot), but also added nice UV lights on the floor)
- Visual engine and groundroll vibration added for both flightsticks
MORE COOL AIRCRAFT
GOT GRAVEL DISCORD SERVER
Thanks for the update! Always loved this plane and I went to fly it about a week ago and the throttle had a mind of its own.
This is my go-to if I want to sightsee and need to cover distance quickly between sights.
Thanks! Vertigo does not play with the throttle (there simply isn’t any code inside that does that), may want to try the usual (in order of likelyhood): disable all Assists, check all keybinds for all controllers for conflicts and optionally remove all else in Community.
Okay, I figured out why my Vertigo was going nuts, after I removed all other add-ons and it still had a throttle mind of its own on takeoff.
Basically, on the runway, no matter what I would do with the throttle, it would firewall it at first, but then as I got airborne speed would start dropping off until I was approaching a stall. Made for some exciting test flights!
Turns out the issue was a toggle switch on my throttle, that essentially held down the “Set autopilot airspeed hold” button. Once I removed that assignment, no more crazy throttle response on my Vertigo and all is well!
The weird things are (1) this didn’t affect other airplanes – I’ve had this assignment for months; and (2) I hadn’t engaged the autopilot as this all happened right at starting the flight.
Anyway, all is well now and I have my high-speed touring machine back! Thanks for keeping the Vertigo and the your other enhanced stock planes up to date!
Glad you got that sorted!
Can you please share how you did that?
I don’t have that problem with Vertigo, but with Grand Caravan with a mod update.
Thanks.
Vertigo used to be my go-to aircraft before the previous update. I would fly it 99% of the time. However, since the previous update, the cockpit shows a blank dashboard devoid of any screens or switches when seen from outside the cockpit.
Then came this recent update and I was hoping that problem would have been fixed - but no. It persists.
I have reported this previously on your Flightsim.to page as well and now again reporting here. Please look into it. It looks terrible with the bubble canopy showing the cockpit clearly.
And this problem is with all liveries. Stock and otherwise. I have previously posted more pictures with different liveries.
Any ideas?
This appears to be a problem with some of the LODs but not the closest ones. Depending on how far I am, I either see the avionics screens or a blank panel:
My apologies, I missed this during the last update. This is indeed due to LOD optimization, which seems to be a tad too heavy. Taken note and will address this in a next update (no date atm).
Aren’t you a gentleman!
Thank you, sir.
Some help please: I have the Vertigo plus the WT G3000 mod. I am trying to get the MFD to display the map in the “Track up” orientation but I cannot seem to find a way to do that. Any advice please?
Thanks!
Alwyn
It uses the G3X Mod, not the G3000 Mod. You’re better off following GotGravel’s instructions that came with the plane and integrate it with the free version of PMS’ GTN750. The G3X MFD even with WT Mods leaves a lot to be desired. The free version of the GTN750 does so much more and if you buy a license, even more functionality is unlocked.
Ahh, thanks very much. I once again learned the lesson (as if I needed to learn it again!) that cutting corners does not work. Do you homework and then fly. I tend to fly a few aircraft regularly (Bonanza, C172, Beaver) and I know those well. For fun I decided to try the Mach Loop with the Vertigo and, because I do not intend making this a regular aircraft, I just wanted to “wing it”. Never works.
Read the script, did what I had to do and all is fantastic.
Thanks for reminding me how to do things better and for pointing me in the right direction: that definitely saved a lot of digging.
And BTW: I had a blast in the loop!!!
Vertigo also shines as a world cruiser. I’ve done 1.5 RTWs with it. Max ceiling gets you over most bad WX, rate of advance is comparable to many personal jets, a bit of conservative fuel flow and wind gets you very decent range. Hauls two plus cargo and you rarely have to offload fuel to make all up weight. I just wish WT would give G3X the same care as the other Garmins, and this would be perfection.
I was so disappointed to hear that WT has no plans to work further on the G3X.
