Hi everyone. I’m going to update to su4 later today as I have been on in a while and I’m wanting to know if there’s anything special I need to do
I’m thinking about downloading a cache clearing tool off that flight sim.to website is this a good idea ? If so what one is best ?
also do I update drivers first. Then sim then remove the caches etc then restart and fire up the simulator ?
im not going to bother with the community folder rename as I only have egnt orbx and fenix aircraft installed at the moment
Any other tips ?
Thanks in advance
My experience was that the update was so easy that I didn’t even notice it taking place.
Those with problems are probably those whose installation has problems already.
My advice is that you need to do nothing, beyond watching the update take place.
I haven’t done anything. That’s part of the point of streaming a lot of the assets, easier updating on our end. Checking for GPU driver updates is always a good thing to do once in awhile, but I wouldn’t bother with doing anything else unless you run into some sort of issue.
Thanks guy. I’ll just give the update ago and see how it is. I’ve not long updated the driver so should be up to date and I’ll just delete rolling cache manually
I didn’t delete anything and the simulator update was nevertheless, seamless.
Didn’t change anything on my system prior to SU4 and performance is solid. You’ll hopefully notice things are much snappier. And I’ve never once renamed the community folder since the early days of 2020, I think it very much depends what you have installed as to whether that actually causes any issues.
