Just installed 32Gb from 16Gb (same make and type) hoping to get some sort of result. Without changing my flight setup, I get a few FPS less. Using MSi - RAM never goes above 12Gb, no matter what or where I fly and ULTRA 4k even over dense polygramatic (still melting chocolate BTW) cities. I’ve seen on UTube results such as 27Gb RAM etc. Developers Mode shows 32Gb. Dunno what’s going on but ATM seems the £100+ I paid just was not worth it.
Help, please guys!
Note: have also deleted and re done the cache (100Gb) but made no difference.
we have some ( lots ) of topics about.. You have to check commited- vs. working- set ( see e.g. ResourceManager ). There is a windows cache etc, and all of this contains data which speed up file loading, etc.
In older ages MSFS realy consumed directly ( working ) a lot more RAM and may be together with some mods it can still be the case, but I assume current normal is ~16Gig. And I assume with 12Gb working-set , the commited is about ~17Gig and so you are with 32GIG possible not in pagefile usage ( which would again slow-down things, and no pagefile usage increase ssd lifetime ).
The fps you see are for me random.. we know that there are many factors.. In your case you are limited by GPU ( no wonder in 4K ) and in that case 256GIG RAM will not help.
