What are the 48 USA airport updates? That would be nice to know.
Maybe read the release notes, it’s right there at the start.
Release Notes (1.11.5.0) World Update II: U.S. Now Available! - Microsoft Flight Simulator
The blog post shows all updates, including a map of what was actually updated.
I see 4. The splash screen says 48.
Airports
- KATL – Atlanta International
- KFHR – Friday Harbor
- KDFW – Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)
- KSWF – New York Stewart International Airport
I didn’t see a splash screen saying 48 airports, mine showed 4.
You mind telling us where in those notes that it lists 48 airports?
As far as I know, it doesn’t list 48 airports anywhere.
Poor Asobo with the majority part of topics created on this forum. They really need to have a great filter to understand what is relevant.
48 airports? Please man, where you saw that. Someone colse this topic please, it’s a lost of time.
There are 48 Airport Data Updates
You need to read a little more carefully.
4 airports
48 new POIs
Maybe you need to read a little more carefully yourself. The questions was "What are the 48 USA airport updates?"
And you need to read what he said more carefully
That is what he said. He is asking what are the 48 airport data updates mentioned in the splash screen. I am assuming they got the splash screen wrong or maybe they are going to give us some additional airports as an early Christmas present? It’s 2020, stranger sh## could happen. lol
My apologies. I stand corrected. I didn’t pay attention to that splash screen. I went by what was in the release notes. That was 4 airports and 48 POIs. I was wrong.
My guess is that someone made an error with that splash screen…
EDIT:
Realized I directed my apology at ab353. The apology was intended for @johne772.
This from Michael McWhertor writing for Polygon:
" Those improvements include four new handcrafted airports: Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Worth; Friday Harbor on San Juan Island in Washington state; and New York Stewart in the Hudson Valley, north of Manhattan. Microsoft Flight Simulator ’s second world update also polishes up 48 other U.S. airports and includes “50 new high-fidelity points of interest across the country,” Microsoft said in a news release. Those points of interest include the Statue of Liberty, Kennedy Space Center, the Hoover Dam, Monument Valley, Yellowstone National Park, Mount Rushmore, Devil’s Tower, and the Grand Canyon."
Yes, I was just going to post this.
4 new handcrafted airports.
48 airport data updates. These are FAR less exciting. Perhaps as simple as removing trees from the runway, or improving taxi paths. I do not know which airports saw these updates.
yep, that, or maybe changes to ILS/NDB/NAV data. Or added a hangar here or there that was missing before.
Good question actually. I checked 3 airports that I had reported to Zendesk regarding issues. None of them were fixed in this update.
