USB devices not recognised when using vr

Good evening, I have been having a lot of issues with the TBM and 787 when using my G2 vr headset. Basically all my peripherals stop working. Sometimes my mouse and keyboard are also not recognised. I had a previous work around with the G2 where I used to stop the automatic switch from windows to headset mode but this no longer works. The second work around I had was to have the Sim in windowed mode before starting vr mode. Again this no longer works. Does anyone have any fixes for this problem?

Pc spec please

One bug in 787 is if you hit the Tab key to bring in the small menu with weather, ATC, etc, it locks out your controls etc.

You need to reprogram another button to access that menu, like the ~ tilde key.

check this out, I had this issue a while ago with my Oculus Rift S, my controller and kb would stop working randomly while in VR. Got really annoying when in a 15min rally stage in Dirt Rally, 12 min in and everything disconnects.

Do you use in windows power management at Maximum?

How much watt your power supply ?

Yes I have power management at maximum performance. My psu is 850 Watts which is fine. The odd thing is that this bug occurs only in the 787 and the TBM.

Thanks I will double check this.

I too have had this problem and noticed that even with Windows Power Management set to high performance, buried inside that was the setting noted above for USB Selective Suspension…and it was turned on meaning that Windows was turning off USB ports selectively. I stumbled across this setting when trying to determine why my G2 headset was randomly going to sleep when the WMR/headset settings had that disabled. So, I changed the USB Selective Suspension setting to Off so it leaves all USB ports running all the time. It’s dumb for Microsoft to have that setting as On by default when using the power management profile that is supposed to maximizing performance so it’s worth trying that to see if it helps you like the other post above. Good luck.

Excellent, thanks for your sharing your experience. I wonder if this has been enabled since updating to Win 10 20H2. I will check tonight.

Ok, because I have AMD 5800x , and got problem with the USB for my G2 so I bought a external USB port none powered, and PCIE USB card it solve my problem. I never get the problem again

Thats interesting. I have a pcie usb card on my other gaming rig so can experiment. I check my device manager and saw that the main USB hubs have power management option enabled so I have disabled them as per @tempestornado23 @aggrohead advice. If it fixes it I will mark as solution
