Usb use on Virtual Desktop is the game changer

On Quest 3 usb use of beta Virtual Desktop made much difference on stability, crystal graphs even on far objects

Does it do anything to help reduce micro stuttering? That’s the only reason I’d be tempted to try it…I have no complaints about actual image quality via WiFi.

Depends what you define as micro stuttering and where the bottleneck currently is on your system. If you have a good network setup this will probably not fix it.

I found I still get best results with an ethernet to usb-c adapter. Still not ideal however. Holding my breath for Steam Frame.

Yes i’am confirm, with my quest 2 and rtx 2080 it’s perfect !!! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: goob béta USB !!!

Absolutely, with USB, using the SSW ON in VD’s Streming menu in the helmet (Oculus Q3 here with 5080).
MFSS gives a butter smooth micro stutter free continuous image, even with moving heads quickly.

The Only requirement is to have at least 30 (real ) FPS.

I’ve ordered a cable to give it a go. Raw FPS is never the problem, just that tiny bit of micro stutter that I’m never sure is from the game or the headset streaming. Can’t hurt to try anyway…

Ok, cable arrived and after a bit of testing…

Better? Probably, especially the reduction in “black screening” when turning your head quickly although I think that might be a general beta improvement rather than anything usb related.

Is it perfect? No. There’s still some minor stuttering* at times when looking sideways, which is more pronounced the lower you are but I think it’s a bit of an improvement. Enough to justify £20 on a cable? Not sure yet.

*Which could be ASW related but there’s times when it feels smooth as butter so I still think it’s a sim optimization issue mainly.
