Use FS2024 downloaded plan

I just downloaded from Flightsim.to the LFPG-EDDM. I cannot figure out how to integrate this pln in the EFB . Could someone explain how to do on a PC

Thanks in advance

It’s kind of convoluted.
You could do it manually by entering all the info, but an easier way would involve the sim’s external flight planner.
Simply copy the route you downloaded into the route section of the planner.
When you save that, you can load it in the EFB.

As another option, in the EFB you can scroll down and there you have the option to load a PLN saved in your computer. Take into account that probably you’ll need to re-select departure and arrival.

It’s a common practice for those of us that don’t use any external ATC tool to have an external plan loaded into the world map so the ATC understands what we’re doing (well not now, the ATC is a mess worse than in 2020, but if it eventually gets acceptable -probably by SU3- it’ll something nice to have). In the EFB from most airplanes you can download the plan directly from Simbrief and have it loaded into the FMC, of course airliners. For the rest of the airplanes that use a Garmin, you can just use Send to Avionics, should work fine though I’ve found some hiccups.

This works for PLN files generated by Simbrief, but I haven’t tested other sources (still need to load a plan from LittleNavMap).

Hope that helps!
Seb

Thanks 7Fly and Seb. It appears that this is another instance of replacing something very easy to do in FS2020 by a quasi impossible task in FS2024.
I will wait until some coding genius succeeds in allowing FS2024 flight simmers to simply import flight plans in FS2024 like it was in FS2020.

It’s not that different, in 2020 there were similar quirks. Just open the EFB, scroll down until you see the button to import the PLN file from your local computer (I don’t remember the exact name).

Now, the EFB itself is kind of a more difficult and cumbersome interface to do something simpler. The issue, I’m afraid, is not the feasability of importing a PLN into 2024, but the EFB acting as the only interface for flight planning. Sadly, it’s all we have.

You might want to check GotFriends Legacy Weight and Balance free addon here: Legacy Weight & Balance – Got Friends, since loading in the EFB is broken (bug reported, but no fix so far).

Moved to User Support Hub > ATC, Traffic & NAVAIDs as the OP is requesting community assistance.

I have No problem to find the import button. The only plan that the EFB finds is one I did 2 months ago. I guess my problem is more as: where should the EFB go to find the files I d/led from Flightsim.to. I opened a folder named FlightPlansFS2024 but I cannot make the connexion between the folder and theEFB

No, that’s the “load” button on top. You need to scroll down, as I said before. It’s on the bottom.

Edit (i just had access to the sim)

Not here:

But here:

“load / save PLN file”. It should open a Windows file explorer to choose your PLN file.

Thanks a lot Seb, I never saw the load and save PLN file because I did not think to scroll down… So now I could choose the LFPG to EDDM (downloaded from flightsim.to) and I could see it in the EFB. I then proceed to save the plan and insert in the avionics. I was thinking to see it when starting the plane but in the cockpit, the flight plan appears to be limited to dep airport and arrival airport no waypoint in between. I think I really need to stick to FS2020 for flight plans and enjoyonly relaxing free flights on FS2024.
But again thanks for your efforts helping others!

Well in my very first reply I said “scroll down”, in the second one too

You don’t mention which airplane are you using. Which one is it? Send to avionics work only for some airplanes, for others you need to use Simbrief as usual.

It was the A320

You’ll have to use Simbrief as usual to load a flight plan. Import the PLN just to let ATC what you’re going to do, but if you don’t care, just import the flight plan from simbrief.
