Brief description of the issue:
Versioning within the UserCfg.opt file seems like it was not updated. The contents of the file have changed between v1.15 and v1.19 but the version headers of the sections have stayed the same. Might this have something to do with people’s settings being inconsistent or changed without them doing anything to the file? Not to be judgemental, but it’s not good coding practice to keep a version the same when things change. I’ve made this mistake before as well. Nobody’s perfect!

Wow. Just wow…

Even bigger “wow” is that nobody seems to care ?

Unless you have access to the internal MSFS design and coding documentation you might want to refrain from commenting on the structure of various MSFS files.

The “internal” versioning has NOTHING to do with MSFS updates. I have many backup copies of my usercfg.opt file starting from January 2021. The “internal” version numbers have not changed at all. Not sure why you think they should.

If you often change the UserCfg.opt file, you may wish to have your own version process. For example, I have two almost identical UserCfg.opt files, one for DX11 and one for DX12 that I swap in and out as needed.
