Oh okay
Looks fantastic , is the TV wall mounted or sitting on its stand?
How long have you used a gaming laptop for? I have a very old PC and I am ready to get a new machine. However I travel a lot so a laptop would be ideal but they cost more and are impossible to upgrade. Im also looking at those intel mini PCs!
While the OLED TV I had suffered burn-in, which is why I got rid of it, it was a 2016 model which was prone to burn-in. Newer models, like the Sony A80J I use to watch TV for movies and streaming services, are much less prone to burn-in, even for use as a PC monitor. It was the other benefits of LED that I mentioned (brighter, more consistent brightness with varying content, no auto screen dimming) that make an LED better for a PC monitor and is why I am not using my A80J for that purpose, despite its wonderful blacks!
I have always had top-of-the-line gaming laptops from Alienware. I upgrade every 7-10 years. Being top-of-the-line at the time of purchase they future-proof themselves and there’s no need to upgrade. They easily last 7-10 years. At which point, I use the old laptop at work and buy another latest top-of-the-line one.
If you calculate the price compared to portability and a calibrated monitor, they are always worth it.
Those are good points and good advice. Better to go all out and get the most powerful unit so it goes a long way. How has reliability been on the Alienware laptops?
Ohh I see… hahah, I thought that picture is how you play the game. Since I usually have my laptop in front of me for my charts, and stuff (my TV is connected to a separate PC with MSFS, so it’s not like the Laptop itself is running msfs).
Wow… I’m more amazed how you’ve been using the same Alienware laptop for 13 years… I like alienware builds too. But I don’t like their prices, and their design. It’s too “gamer-y” for me. I prefer a more minimalistic and elegant laptop design like Dell XPS, or the HP Spectre. Although HP laptop has atrocious reliability. But I’m getting off-topic now.
