I am new here so I don’t know if this is the correct forum but I’m desperate so I am posting anyway. I submitted this as ‘Request #118099’ but no responses so I hoping I have better luck here. Thanks for being understanding.
I just installed an old Saitek Pro Yoke and Throttle. I was using a Thrustmaster joystick but wanted a bit more realism.
Here are my current issues:
I can map the controls to my yoke and throttle and save under a profile name. I then get into the simulator but when I try to load the profile in Basic Controls I can’t. All I see is “DEFAULT” and when I click on either the right or left pointing arrow nothing changes.
When I use an Airbus I see that only 1 engine moves to full power. As you can guess It causes the aircraft to pull sharply as it accelerates down the runway.
When using a Cessna I will lose the input from the yoke from time to time. I pause it and go to Options/Controls and move the yoke axis a few time and come back into the game and the yoke works once again.
In preparing to use the Saitek, I downloaded the most recent driver from the Logitech website. I calibrated the yoke and throttle using the ‘joy.cpl’ program.
What do I need to do to fix these issues? Thank you.
Hello, how are you?
I will try to help you.
I have Saitek and it is going very well so let’s try to get that ready.
What driver of saitek tines …?
Have you installed FSUIPC …?
You say “I then get into the simulator”, does it mean you create your profile outside the sim, e.g. with the Saitek software ?
If yes, don’t do this, create your profile in MSFS.
In your MSFS profile, be sure to bind all your engines to the throttle lever if you only use one lever, or Engine1 to lever1, Engine2 to lever2.
Could be differents causes.
Begin with the above solutions and we’ll see if if it’s OK or not.
This is not needed in this case. FSUIPC is a nice payed tool to ease keybindings but not necessary in this case. I have this yoke, 2 TQ and the rudders
Those 2 programs you downloaded are just the drivers to make it work. After running you can forget and delete them.
Within the Sim go to Options → Controls, select your peripheral in the top bar, and click ‘Preset Manager’ in the foot bar. Click the ‘Plus’ (+) icon, give it a name and start assigning the buttons and axis you want.
Number 2 is probably related to the profile. Assign throttle axis 1 and throttle axis 2 to a control and I think this is solved.
Number 3: the moment the sim is not in focus (clicked outside the sim window) it will not respond to inputs. Make sure the sim is in focus and active window to keep control
You say “I then get into the simulator”, does it mean you create your profile outside the sim, e.g. with the Saitek software ?
Yes, I didn’t explain that very well. I’m in MSFS all the time. I get into the World Map, select my aircraft and departure airport. I click ‘FLY’ then ‘‘READY TO FLY’. I take off then I hit the ESC key. I select ‘CONTROLS CONTROLS’, select FLIGHT YOKE SYSYEM’. OK, now I see my profile and can toggle between it and ‘DEFAULT’. Somehow it was fixed. Thanks for your efforts.
