Using Xbox save states to split flights

Hey guys.

Right now the lack of a proper save function turns me off attempting longer flights. But if I quit the sim without actually closing it in the Xbox home screen, could I come back to the same flight when I restart later? I guess I’d be boned if there’s an update in between, but are there any other issues? Anyone tried?

My guess: could work maybe but very risky. Especially if you have multiple users on the same Xbox.

Yes, that is the only way I can continue the same flight, since the Save function doesn’t restore the toolbar or anything. Essentially, when I want to stop and have the ability to resume, just press the XBox button and go to the XBox home screen. As long as you don’t get an update, the XBox ‘Quick Resume’ feature will bring you right back where you left off.

You can. You can even close down Xbox and return to the same point in the flight. Last night, I pressed the menu button on the Xbox controller in mid-flight, then pressed the jewel button to get to power options, and shut down the console. This morning I booted up the console, opened FS (quick resume) and hit the menu button to return to the flight. It came back to the exact point at which I left it.

I am not sure how disruptive an update would be, however.

Might be an option if you have exclusive use. Doesn’t work if you have one or more children that use the xbox while you are working, and result in your quick save being deleted every time! :face_with_diagonal_mouth:
