V2 UPDATE released! LATEST BN2 Islander available now from Blackbox Simulation

No, I’m sorry but because the New V2 is a complete model rebuild Older liveries will be incompatible .
We have supplied a Paint kit and the conversion is not massively difficult so perhaps expect the V2 Liveries to come on line in the next days / weeks

I love the new version. It looks, sounds and feels great. :+1: :+1: :+1: Just wanted to give a hint that there are some minor glitches in the cockpit of the cargo variant (flickering)

I love a free gift. There was absolutely no obligation to release this v2, so thanks a lot @NightMercury358 !

Is it perfect? No, there are other aircraft that have higher visual standards. Is it enjoyable? Yes for sure, and for me far more than before due to the visuals that are now at an very acceptable level for an aircraft like this. I wil enjoy myself with this present!

Is ANYTHING Perfect ?

No, but I wanted to give a fair expectation to others and I think I did

Congrats and thanks for the release, donwnloading it right now.

On your web site, I only see the old v1 paint-kit over one year old. Not uploaded yet maybe ?

Sorry the link isnt yet updated
Here is the V2 PaintKit

Thanks a lot !

I mean, it IS quite an issue … Think about the two and a half people that (maybe sometimes) use my livery !

Oh btw, I have another problem, I had money set aside to get the improved Islander ; I guess I’ll use it to buy the Trislander instead now …

The conversion is not too tricky… Mainly the engines area and a few small sections
good luck… and shout me if you need a pointer

this , , I dont understand sorry (Its early, and Sunday) lol

Never mind, only a bad joke … It meant “Thank you for supporting the Islander customers, I’ll buy the Trislander too”.

AHA ! Sorry
Not a “BAD” Joke … just a misunderstood one

Your most welcome … Thank you and ENJOY the Norman sisters

Hello,
Many thanks for this V2 version ! :+1: :+1: :+1:
some questions:

  1. What is the procedure for selecting a panel color ?..
  2. What is the procedure to integrate a GTN 750 ?..

the panel colour is selected by the Livery chosen
and at this time we have Not tested the GTN 750 but feel sure the “stand alone” will work just fine

Wow. Just downloaded and installed. Lovely and many thanks for your continued work on the Islander. A clear thumbs up! Just started a first testflight out of Heligoland and very positively impressed.

Cheers
T.

Just had a couple of flights, and having to get used to its handling all over again.

Bringing in that second stage of flaps causes the nose to rise, so getting ready to trim down before it does so helps.

I also spent some time playing around with some of the settings in my SPAD profile, for my Logitech gear. I have most things set up correctly, just working on the starter, and a couple of other things.

I found when enabling the avionics, which is tied to the bus to bus connection toggle, rather than set, that it constantly spams PANEL_LIGHTS_SET for some reason. Hundreds, and hundreds of continuous events.

I think I also missed something for the engine starters. I see the switch at the top throw, but the engine doesn’t turn over, for instance. I’m using the auto-throttle switch on my panel as a way of changing the single engine starter switch on the panel. When auto-throttle is off it will start the port engine, and when its on it will start the starboard engine. This works great on the Cessna 414AW.

After lunch I’ll provide a bit more info as this is from memory.

The same as Trislander … perhaps your missing the Start Isolate Switch at the bottom of the Electrical switch panel
(The other thing would be Engine Covers are still in place  )

First of all - great work on the update, love what I am seeing so far.

Two quick questions, though:

  1. I seem to be blind - wasn’t there a manual included with the old version? If it is in the aircraft folder, where do I find it? I figure there were some updates to the original file.

  2. I can click and use the five big check boxes on the clipboard, but it seems like there is more text hidden below those options. I can’t seem to pull it out of the door compartment, though to check. Should I be able to and, if so, how?

Any feedback is much appreciated.

No, the isolate switch I found, and had bound. I know if I use the VC switch, I can see that it is using the external power toggle event. But I couldn’t get the switch to animate if I used the other events, such as Set, or ON/OFF. That can lead to a switch being out of sync, so I could have a check to only toggle external power if it is not already in the state I want it to be.

I had a similar, though more successful attempt with the fuel pumps. I think they were also toggles, but I could get those to work with the ON/OFF events.

I’ll double check the tie-downs as you may be right on that. I don’t think I could even get it to start with CTRL-E, so that may be it after all. I’ll check again after lunch.

And congrats. Its a hell of a makeover. I particularly liked the rotating beacon, which may be a first.

AHH The one that was in the L19 Birddog, Islander V1 and Trislander yes ?
LOL

The Islander is the only plane of yours that I have. Did it really?! I can’t say I ever noticed. Well done, all the same. :joy:
