Valve Pro headset

Hi - Anybody that has this headset or has used this headset please comment on the Valve Pro (non_V2) model - As to the ability to tweak the settings to get a clear enough image from within VR cockpit to read the flight instruments.

Please bear in mind that I’ve not used VR yet - This is new tech - But I do build my own PC machines - So I just need to know a little more on this lower end headset as it is a lot cheaper and will be less strain on GPU - so it comes down to tweakability of the headset.

Having a lower VR image won’t be too bad - But having unreadable flight controls would be - Any info is welcome - Thank you.

Hi Roland,
do you mean Vive Pro BTW (typo)?
Well, I only know something about Oculus/Meta Quest (1) which seems to be similar concerning resolution. But it’s a standalone headset which means that the video has to be compressed while connected to a PC. My computer (Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 5700) can handle this at the headset’s ‘native resolution’ in many situations at about 27 to 30 fps. Due to compression the image isn’t very crisp. But if you can’t read an instrument, just lean forward against it to ‘zoom in’
(For me that’s a key feature of VR: it feels very ‘natural’ to look/move around.)
BTW Quest 1 is relatively cheap right now (second-hand) because of Quest 3’s availability.

Hi there,

Yes I think some confusion from all the marketing is evident here in the typo!!!

Valve Index
Vive Pro

Sorry for any confusion -
