This does not sound good at all! I have yet to download the up-date and have been hoping to see the lights on Grouse Mountain behind the city of Vancouver, added to the scenery.

Charles.

Oh Dear! I was expecting to find a ‘Discovery Flight’ for Vancouver. I have now discovered why there is no ‘Discovery Flight’. Look at my screen-shot of Vancouver city, I think Kevin Wenstrob from the Netflix series ‘Big Timber’ will have his work cut-out felling all of those trees, some of which are as big a the skyscrapers! No lights on Grouse Mountain either. The bridge to Sea Island has collapsed into the Fraser River, I know Vancouvers ‘East Side’ Hastings and Main Street have become apocalyptic looking in real-life. Judging by the look of this scenery the virtual Works Department of the City of Vancouver need get their fingers out, to fix this virtual apocalypse. My brother in-law, (retired) was the Superintendent for the Deaprtment of Works at City Hall, I know this city very well! I am disappointed. I am sure there will be great things to come in a future up-date.

No add-ons active in my Community folder during this virtual flight.

Trees everywhere, a true ‘urban jungle’!

Charles.

To the MSFS team: thank you very much for doing this Canada World Update, and all the hours and effort you put into it. However, as somebody from Vancouver, I cannot use this Canada World Update now, because the scenery for metro Vancouver is a mess. I am about to uninstall this Canada World Update because it makes metro Vancouver way worse than before. Before I uninstall it though, if you are on the MSFS team and you are reading this, here are some photos of issues that need urgent improvement in the metro Vancouver area:

Canada Place (maybe you should handcraft this):

Vancouver downtown harbor with the cranes and containers:

Metrotown shopping centre:

Knight Street bridge:

Canada line (this may require handcrafting too):

Lansdowne Center:

Arthur Liang Bridge (by CYVR):

Oak Street Bridge (by CYVR):

Canada Line bikeway and Canada Line (by CYVR):

Granville Bridge (by downtown, this bridge was used in Deadpool 2):

Cambie Street Bridge (by downtown):

Downtown Vancouver (is this the Matrix?):

More downtown Vancouver (yeah, this is the Matrix!):

I look forward to a fix for this Canada World Update, or maybe we have to wait for Canada World Update #2 (just like how the US got a second World Update). In any case, this Canada World Update is unusable for me, as the pictures above demonstrate.

Hi,

I think these photogrammetry and mesh bugs in World Update 11 are unacceptable.

I hope Asobo will rectify and fix the problem.

Regards.

The question is: how on earth did quality control, if there is any, green-light this product?

This PG looks about as bad as London’s, which is saying something.

I wish it was possible to enable / disable photogrammetry on an area basis, like you can cache specific areas. You should be able to disable PE in particular areas. London looks much better with autogen + the Orbx landmarks pack, for example, but I don’t like disabling PG entirely since many PG areas look great and perform well. And having to go out of the game into the menu to re-enable it mid-flight is tedious and immersion-breaking.

I really looked forward to this Canadian scenery however, l never thought l would have to uninstall a World Update. I will have a look at the new airports and then uninstall this update.

Thank you to Asobo for the hard work and we know there will be better things to come in the future ‘a’ …

Looks like the apocalypse for sure.

To me the downtown bridges (Granville and Cambie) really stick out like sore thumbs, especially next to the handcrafted Burrard Bridge.

I’d say a CU (City update) is needed for Vancouver (And Toronto)

It looks like Vancouver is the new London. Shame really. As for lack of quality control, I‘m not sure if there‘s much they can do about it, well, apart from not releasing it that is.

I would hope that maybe the MSFS team was under a rush to release the Canada World Update and they didn’t have enough time to audit the data they were using, or perhaps they rushed a specific conversion process because of the impending deadline of September 29th.

The Canada World Update is a pretty big update, with many cities affected, as well as terrain across Canada getting some changes. So maybe they were spread thin during the testing and quality control phase of this release.

This is what I am hoping at least. If this were true, then maybe they can do something to fix the photogrammetry in Vancouver. But we have to get their attention first with enough votes on this issue.

Other then those early post release updates, which came thick, and fast as I recall, the gap between SU10, and WU11 was very short. I doubt they have been working on it for some time though.

Toronto Night Flying

You can uninstall PG Cities scenery for each WU release separately.

I thought they were separate teams so there shouldn’t have been any overlap or conflict?

Sorry, that was an iPad typo. I didn’t mean I “doubt” they have been working on it for some time. I expect they have been working on it for some time. I think Jorg may have said that they take months of planning.

That said, it does make me wonder why they don’t spend more time tidying up the PG. I wouldn’t expect them to inspect every blade of grass. But prominent features or buildings should.

Just like Rome in the WU7: Italia. It was also like an abandoned jungle city. So many simmers complained about it, that Asobo did update the update to reduce and lower the trees. I wonder why this bug happens again. They could have seen those absurd big trees before release. Can’t or won’t Asobo fix this tree bug?

This is what the Granville Bridge looks like without the Canada World Update:

The irony is, the MSFS team handcrafted the Burrard Bridge in the Canada World Update, so Burrard Bridge looks better.

If only we could circle and take specific objects from the Canada World Update that we like
