Varjo Aero and Pimax Crystal raw performances

Hi,

With the exact same PC hardware setup, MSFS settings and headset setup (using foveated rendering and native resolution for both of them), how would you compare the final delivered FPS / performance of the Varjo Aero with the Pimax Crystal ?

There are a lot of feedbacks on visual clarity, FOV comparison comfort, … both headset delivering good FPS with a 4090 (which I don’t have), but I have hard time finding if the Crystal software is, at this time, as optimized as the Varjo software regarding raw FPS performances, and if specific software parameters are available in one of these headsets that could make a difference?

Thanks all!

Just so you know, the Vario Aero was discontinued today.

Well that’s bad news. I wonder if they’ll be good about keeping up with software updates for it. I would love the XR-4, but even though I consider myself a flight sim enthusiast, and typically I’m willing to spend the cash to get the most realistic experience, I have to say that I draw the line at $4000. I feel that users wanting high end headsets are in bit of a quandary at the moment. Ideally the Pimax crystal would now be the logical choice but I’ve read so much about poor quality control and after sales service that is nowhere near the professional level of Varjo.

Yes, I second that, customer service at Varjo is great. Saying that, XR4 pricing is a disappointment so far. Hope that can be reviewed and made more accessible to the flight sim community.
