For some reason that I cannot figure out, I don’t see all Vatsim traffic on my G1000. Sometimes I do see the traffic on the MFD, sometimes not. On the sim settings I have all traffic set to off (Multiplayer = Off; Air Traffic = Off), so traffic can only come from the vPilot app as far as I understand it. In the image below, there’s an aircraft off to my left (much higher though). Yet there’s nothing on my MFD. Are aircraft that are much higher or lower not shown on the MFD?
If that traffic is over 2,700 feet above they’re not going to show up on Normal. They also won’t show up if on Below. You can configure this on the Traffic Map (click MENU once on it). I suggest leaving it on Normal while in cruise. This gives you coverage 2,700 feet above and below. If you want you can also use Unrestricted. This will give you coverage 9,900 feet above and below but it can get really messy during events on the network.
