Hello, newbie Steve here.
I have received my V1 yoke and am really bummed to learn that it does not work in XBOX live. I need XBOX live for flight sim because I have XBOX One. I am on the fence about upgrading to XBOX X Series and installing MSFS locally, or returning the yoke and just settling for a Micorsoft flight joystick and continuing with XBOX Live on XBOX One. My quesion is, do you think the upgrade to XBOX X is worth it to use the V1 yoke, or is the joystick option a comparalbe flight experience? (I have been using my standard controller, so have no idea the realistic factor of joystick vs yoke).
Asobo said that cloud gaming MSFS only supports xbox controller, no joystick, mouse, or keyboard. They said support might come later but I’ve not seen any further announcement so I figure it’s probably still the case.

I have a VOne and a Series S and it’s hands down worth the upgrade to the new console. I have it on both PC and XB/S and I do most of my flying on console now because I can use my 70” tv and the couch to do it.
You don’t even need to go up to the XSX if you are worried about money, the sim plays great on the Series S (although you may need to pick up a memory expansion card at some point if you start buying add ons) and the S is a lot easier to find on the market and is cheaper.
I was using a TM HOTAS prior and it was fine, but the upgrade to the VOne was night and day. I did keep the HOTAS so I could buy the rudder pedals to use with the VOne and it’s been excellent. Even found a racing wheel stand that accommodated all the pieces with hardly any modifications. Now I just pull my stand over to the front of my couch and plug the stuff in and go. Below is a shot of my stand with the parts mounted.
I’ve since added a clamp case holder for my iPad on the left side so that I can use AirMate to pull up airport diagrams, maps, sim the flight plan on their for somewhat real-time tracking of my flight, etc.

Wow, that is amazing! Thanks for all the info - I did see a lot of Series S and for so incredibly less, I thought maybe it was outdated; great to know the flight sim is good with it. Just having the V One briefly on the table and feel the yoke controls was amazing. It made me realize why I’m having trouble with my flare with the controller on cloud! The S upgrade will be perfect - the regular standard controller I’ve been using on cloud is driving me nuts as well. I didn’t see a plug in for rudder pedals on the unit, but I think they can be added. The pedals would definately add so much more realism, but the problem for me is I love the couch too much, and the yoke will be tough enough to set up there. If I have to get a stand like that - I’m going for it!

I’m an xbox couch flyer. I have the hotas and keyboard on a laptop lap “table” and the pedals on the floor. Mouse on the sofa arm and I don’t use the controller except for flying the drone. It’s ultra portable, takes very little space when put aside, and works very well.
It’s a little too comfortable sometimes - flights I took off and then later found myself crashed on the ground!
Turtle Beach will be doing rudder pedals soon for the VOne, so I’d hold off for those so you have a single, simpler set up. I got the TM pedals just because I had a little extra cash lying around and was too impatient to get the stand fully set up, lol
Do you have a link to this stand you got? Do you still like it?
Yep - here’s the link to it:

I do still like it. I had to get a 1x3 and cut it to fit under the main shelf in order for the yoke to mount properly with the clamps. But other than that, no modification needed.
I did just see that TB announced a stand for the V1, so it may be worth checking that out too depending on what they end up charging for it.

Hi everyone just got the new velocity one stick on xbox one. I have the flight simulator on game pass and my velocity one wont work. It only says my vontroller is in use but not my velocity one. Im not looking into buying the new console. Do u guys have any ideas why it wont work.
Only game controller supported on cloud gaming. Not even the mouse works. Jorg did say they’d try and improve this when cloud was first launched but no change since then so you can read that as you will.
It’s a cloud platform restriction not something that MSFS can fix themselves IIUC.

Thank you for the comment
i figured that it wouldnt work for game pass
It works for game pass. I use game pass. It does not work for cloud gaming so you need to install and run natively in a series S or series X. Sadly you cannot use the peripherals on older xboxen.
