I’ll start of by saying I love the Turtle Beach rudder pedals, so I figured I try their yoke out. I fly only on PC VR and currently use a T.16000M stick with the ubiquitous Logitech quadrant and it’s dirty signals.
However, I haven’t been able to actually fly and maintain good aircraft control with this yoke. I can cruise around okay, but a landing pattern or anything with more advanced hand flying is a big problem.
One big issue is the yoke becomes sticky, especially if I’m flying one handed, which creates off axis forces. The yoke pressure is also too light. So between the not so smooth movements and low resistance, it’s easy to get janky.
Also, the way the yoke returns to centered pitch axis is kind of unnatural to how the real thing works. Luckily the trim wheel is quite nice. I can let it center and then trim in a way I haven’t been able to in MSFS before. But one doesn’t use the trim wheel as their primary pitch control.
I was able to translate using the T.16000M to flying a real airplane no problem. But neither seemed to prepare me for the Velocity One Yoke.
I know people are using it, so I assume I could get used to it?
