Brief description of the issue:
Time to launch on the same hardware where it used to be < 2 minutes to launch is now 8 minutes to get to menu.
Time from menu to discovery flight is now 7-8 minutes, but used to be about 1 minute.

Launch app, go to discovery flight.
PC specs and/or peripheral set up of relevant:
Alienware, 11th gen Core i7, RTX 3080.
Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

Do you have any mods or add-ons installed?
Nope. Fresh install from about 3 days ago. I had it uninstalled for a few weeks.
Sometimes itās more than 8 minutes. Somtimes the discovery flights progress bar hold at about 80% -90% progress for 10+ minutes.
Do you use SSD? Have enough free space on the disk? Very strange. Usually, when it takes too long to lead the sim it is at least consistent (usually broken liveries or photogrammetry mods are responsible).
I think it has something to do with server loading. Sometimes it happens to me too, but not for as long as you describe.
As I said it used to be faster. If the machine was slow, it would be the same as before update 6.

Either itās internet/server issues, or itās a hang building shaders (directX issue) or something.
There were a lot of server related issues recently. Multiplayer dropping off and people not able to see their friends in a group, azure voice dropping off, etc.
Ditto. Click to Main Menu - up to 5 minutes, Time to āFly Nowā - sometimes 6 minutes. No changes to PC, add-ons or settings.

On my pretty fast system it wont even start, hangs on the new activities page.
It used to load OK 2 weeks ago, tried all sorts of recommended fixes ā¦ NADA. I give up.
Same here, after update 6 the loading time to menu went from 3:30 tops to 8+ min. And menu to fly is ridiculous. (15+ mins) Tried starting with and without mods and still the same. I,m not an expert but Houston we have a problem! I am very appreciative to MS and Asobo for a wonderful sim and thoroughly enjoy it, but 2 steps forward and 3 steps back after every update is frustrating. I,m doing everything on my end to make it work and I have a very high end pc and graphics card. Hopefully, a word repeated often in our community, the next update will address it.

I havenāt run the simulator for about 2 weeks. Time to load from a fresh reboot now about 7 minutes. Once software does load, everything is very sluggish, and the only thing that is ultimately available is the āQuit to Desktopā via the ESC key.
Prior to two weeks ago, software would load in about 2 minutes.
I canāt supply the number of the update I am on, but I have kept up with updates.

I am having the same issue. PC, intel i9 11900, GTX 3080ti. 64G Ram. I have not run the sim for a bit, but now it is unusable. The loading takes a long time and the menu is essentially unresponsive. I tried a clean install, but this did not work.

I donāt know if this will work for others, but uninstalling Citrix Workspace solved the menu lag and load time issues completely. I went from 5 minutes to load to 1.5 minutes to load and now I can actually click on buttons!

I couldnāt agree moreā¦ this piece of SW with its mandatory updates is just useless. From one day to the other a fantastic flying experience with all āultraā settings results in a nightmare were startup takes ages and within the activities menu your are captured by a a very unresponsive environmentā¦ Ctrl+Alt+Del to kill the application is the only reasonable solutionā¦ and you have to wait for another major updateā¦

I have the exact same issue. Takes 20 to 30 minutes to load with 1.20.6.0. I uninstalled, reinstalled and exact same issue. I practically have a dedicated computer and made no changes. It just hangs during load up and flight making it unusable.

Use Fast Launcherā¦ you can found may topics abot this on the boardā¦
For PC version & xPass version: create a new desktop shortcut with the following command & it will launch the program without any of the videos:
"cmd.exe /C start shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App -FastLaunch"
WITHOUT QUOTESā¦ it works on W10 & W11 
For Steam version: right-click on the game title under the Library in Steam and select Properties.
Under the General tab click the Set launch options button & enter the following : ā-FastLaunchā
WITHOUT QUOTESā¦ I donāt know if it works because I donāt use Steam
Shaving 20 seconds via fast launcher will hardly make a difference if the time to load the game is over 8 minutes.
The issue must be somewhere else and many of us have randomly experienced. For the ones who didnāt well the inevitable will happen sooner or later

Tried this on my PC and it did the trick! MSFS is now back to normal.
Main Menu in MSFS was extremely slow, more or less unusable. Tried restarts and removing addons, but it did not make any difference. Tried to right-click on the Citrix icon in Notification Area and select Exit, but that did not make any difference. Uninstalled Citrix Workspace and voila!! MSFS is good to go

system: Systeem: Ryzen 9 3900X,RTX 2070 ,32GBVeng,Asro X570 PHANTOM GAMING 4 , Windows 11 Pro 64bits , M2 + SSD
because of bringing PC / Xbox together I have problems to load the game quickly , before that it was an average of 2 min ā¦
But after that it quickly went towards that 10 to 15 min
Iāve completely empty my Community and bought a lot of stuff in game Store but thatās about 10 things more than me before coming together with XBOX
But it is strange that from the moment the Xbox was added I have much more trouble starting the game, ingame it is sometimes also slow
Especially when I go to new areas, my cashe is at 50GB and should be more than enough to load something
Hope this can be fixed soon, and that it can go back to before xbox merge
I have fast startup turned on, so no videos and such

Thank you for this suggestion and for posting it. I deleted Citrix Workspace (I noticed that it was last updated since I had last used the Sim), and now I am back to flying again.
