Is there a list available that describes the different icons on the VFR map?
For instance, why are some airports red and others blue?

Blue color is a towered airport. The magenta is non towered. This YouTube clip will help explain sectionals.

Thanks for sharing. After watching this, I find this PDF useful during flights (until I learn them all):

Hopefully the VFR map will get an overhaul, or at least add a normal map (GPS) with more zoom possibilities, POIs and details like Bing maps. Until then I use a map in browser switch between to see what’s near.
